Well at 2.5 months in simply cutting contact would be a dick move, but I could see it happening.
I've dated lots of guys that simply stopped communicating and I just didn't give a shit and moved on haha
Gays tend to be kind of flaky from my experiences and they don't really do formal breakups or anything, they just stop contacting you. I've done similar to some guys as well so I guess I can't bitch too much, though I've never done that at the 2 month mark.

If they don't want to talk it's not worth your time, don't even bother attempting contact. If they actually want to continue dating he'll make an effort to reach out to you. I'd recommend just looking for someone else in the meantime.
