yaeh, I think i can agree with this. there are mostly likely true cases of transgenderism but I'd say at least 40% of those identifying as trans in western cultures are not actually trans.

I raged pretty hard when I learned that Oregon officially recognized a gender other than male/female.

I have several, but they've all been deemed completely unrelated to my being trans by shrinks. Endogenous depression, likely genetic given a family history of dopamine linked symptoms. PTSD, following the suicide of a girl I loved. Occupational burnout, which is unfortunately a pervasive problem in the agency that employs me.
Looking back, being trans has always been a quality of life issue. I never had trouble fitting in at any time during my youth. Only, I did as a girl. The only thing wrong was my body, and it's fixed now. And gender dysphoria is pretty much gone. The rest of my issues are still problematic.
