OK so ignore all the comments above me. I'm gonna explain this the right damn way and everyone else can suck it.
Here's the thing - sexual attraction isn't about genitals. Bam I said it. And it's true. When you see a sexy person on the street, do you know what their genitals look like? No, you see their body. THE GENITALS ARE IRRELEVANT.
Men who are into women are straight. EVEN IF THE WOMEN HAVE PENISES.
Seeing a penis or vagina on its own isn't sexual. Humans are attracted to secondary sexual characteristics - like boobs, or chest hair. Dicks are ugly. Vaginas are ugly. Anybody who says "i couldn't date a trans person because of the genitals" is actually transphobic. They have been trained to think they only like one kind of genitalia. THIS IS NOT TRUE. It takes a while to wrap your mind around it, but really the genitals don't matter. I'm into men - if I find a trans guy who I connect with, I'll fucking date him! I don't care what his genitals look like because it doesn't matter, I'm already attracted to him.

I thought I was straight too until I started fapping to twink porn. to answer your question though there is always something off about trans girls that keep them from passing 100% usually its their voice or a strong jawline Male skeletal structure is biologically different too so it requires really lucky genetics and a lot of work to actually get a really convincing and passable female form. Don't date traps if you can't handle crazy. Most of them have severe mental health issues and are always insecure. Many of them are depressed and either self harm or have attempted suicide at least once. You not coming off as a dirty chaser is a good start though. Treat them like a girl and don't let them think like you are doing it for a sexual kink thing. "I don't care if you have a penis" is an immediate turn off for them. Only date the ones who realize being trans isn't something that is normal and can joke about themselves. The other ones will be insanely into social justice and some actively start denying they are trans because to even admit it reminds them of who they were before transitioning.
