I haven't noticed. As someone gently older, before it became every twelve year old's favorite phrase, I find it sounds really stupid. But I don't see much harm in using it if you don't mind that.

It's juvenile and inconsiderate, like using the word "retarded" or some other needlessly crude or demeaning word or phrase to describe something that you can explain through a mature, educated knowledge of language.

People who feel the need to use words like that typically do so for attention and/or to fit in with immature ignoramuses. That goes doubly so for LGBT people. They never left the schoolyard in their mind and seek out approval from their peers, no matter how self-destructive and casually dehumanizing that may be for them.
