I will give you that Anastasia does make some very good brow products and their new contouring shades which I'm hoping will be in individuals soon.
But my first job was at Mac and I know they have some good products, I still stuff a lot of their contour pro shades in my z palettes whenever I need touch ups on the go. To say Mac is shit is incredibly foolish. Every makeup artist carries at least some Mac products in their kits. If I wanted to do a sheer natural makeup look on a client I always use the Mac face and body because it photographs really well.

All of the NARS products I've tried have been shit or mediocre. I've tried a blush, a lip gloss, highlighter, and sheer glow foundation. All of them were blah at best.

Also I never said MAC is utter shit, I said it's not overtly high quality either. I've tried even drugstore brands that are just as good at some products, like lipsticks and foundations. MAC is known for lipsticks but they aren't that great quality-wise, they just have a lot of colors.

This is a bad thought pattern. You're never going to be perfect and nobody will ever expect you to be.

Think for a minute about all the things you'd be willing to forgive or overlook in a partner if you were attracted to her, got along with her and thought you might be able to fall in love with her. What if she didn't have a job? You'd probably be willing to help her out, or support her. What if she was a little unattractive? Probably wouldn't be a deal breaker if she met your other criteria. And so on.

You shouldn't always expect that people are expecting perfection just because you think they're a bit out of your league. Go for it and see what happens.
