So how stereotypical is the "I was born in the wrong body" narrative? It sounds like something "trutrans" say. Although it does also seem like some kids figure out the differences and object earlier and speak out but why wouldn't kids stay quiet and not want to "get in trouble"? Besides kids are kind of gender neutral looking at that age.

It wasn't until puberty beat me with the ugly stick I realized something was wrong. Being male had its benefits and the exchange seemed tolerable until I realized I was going to really look like a man.
