If sex are the physiological features and gender are the neurological/social ones, why has people stopped using the word 'transsexual' and started using the word 'transgender'?
Trans people are not changing their genders because they always felt they were of that gender. It is their bodies, aka sex, what doesn't match and it's their bodies what usually change or 'transition.'
Transexuals are perverts, who thibk that because they have a fetush for being the opposite sex, it means they actually are the opposite sex and they must match the outside with the inside.

Transgender = Gender is different than sex
Transsexual = Modifying body to accommodate transgender

>Gender is different than sex
Poor phrasing. Rather gender does not match sex. As in feminine gender and masculine sex or vice versa.
Transgender does not actually imply HRT, surgery, crossdressing, etc. Just mental state and physical state being different, and the accompanied dysphoria.
Transsexuals are doing HRT, surgery, crossdressing, etc. There are also some 'transsexuals' who are not transgender, and are just changing themselves to suit a fetish like what >>5672121 said.

A person is not transgender because they are transitioning. They typically transition because they are transgender.
Medical transition changes sex characteristics (secondary, primary, both) to be more congruent with those typical of the gender the person identifies with.
Does that clear things up?

eh, some. I guess the suffix 'trans' confused me because it implies going through something, but I looked up the definition of transexual and it seems it doesn't say anything about it and only talks about gender and sex not matching, so yeah.

That mojito was stronger than I thought.
