I can empathize. I hated my last year of highschool since I thought it was all bullshit and a waste of time. I barely passed my French class. If my French teacher gave me an F I would have had to do my senior year of highschool all over again. She hated me anway, all I ever did was make fun of the language and not respect it at all. My main issue is French doesn't make sense at all nothing sounds the way it's spelled. It's definitely not like German which is a phonetic language. Every single thing is spelled exactly how it sounds. None of this silent letter bullshit French has.

My brother is an avid reader and Brothers Karamazov was one of his favourites he read. I personally haven't been much of a reader. I can read of course, but I just get bored and prefer movies most of the time. I think the last novel I read was A Walk In The Woods which is now a movie. Am I the only person who really liked high school? The opportunities you get to discuss fascinating concepts with professors, experts and fellow students are unparalleled, and I really found some of their recommendations invaluable for my own personal reading and research.

Just become friends with your personal tutor. At the end of my bsc mine sat me down and basically told me about how appreciative she was that me and my friend had actually got to know her because she felt university was changing to what you had described.
She's legit such a cool list and I still send her emails to see how she's getting on. If I ever go back to my uni city I go and check if she's in as well. Like she was so nice I could go to her with any problem, personal or course related and she'd do everything to help.

Also your personal tutor has a say on your dissertation grade so it's nice to be liked by them..

My mother has her own business for over 34 years now and my dad recently established his own business 7 years ago. They both aren't rich, but make do with what they have. They haven't paid for anything except to help me with a car loan. My car's paid off and for the most part. What money I make is my own. I don't expect much money from my parents until they die, but I don't want them to die since I love them and only care about their well being. Money is of no importance in my personal life or relationships with them.

It sucks being Upper Middle Class not only the government over taxes them, but their children can't receive any FAFSA until their 24 years old.

I feel the same about money and my parents. If mom had maintained her business we'd actually be fine right now, but she opted for law school about 6 years ago and the debt finally added up with her not working for so long.

Feel p bad for my dad and sister, since he's had to keep the whole shindig afloat (and has aged 12 years in 6), and she's SOL on quality school support since everything dried up just a year or so before it became a serious concern. Scholarships hopefully are gonna get her by, but it's not great.

I refuse to get Obamacare. When I did my taxes last year they said I made such a small amount of money working and being a student that I am exempt from having to have any insurance. At least that's what my tax specialist computer program thingy said.

Ideally what you would want to do is have something separate from the ppl that run it (like a corporation) where the ppl in it are then given a salary. That's when you can start using it as a tax shelter. But this isn't the case for the majority of small businesses in the States, so there is probably some threshold that they must meet in order for this to happen.

I just transferred to UF and there are a lot of gay guys here. I don't even know how I got into my program, it's way more prestigious than anything I thought I'd be a part of.

What's the best way to make new friends in college? I'm planning on joining a few clubs maybe, doing some volunteer work. There's only like one gay club in town and I'm afraid to go on my own. I went to the one back home quite a bit but never really did anything but drink- everyone was about thirty years older than me and it was only a step above a dive bar.
