To divorce them from the ideology would require a world-wide (or at least country-wide) understanding that religion can be bad and therefore we shouldn't have such a thing as "freedom of religion".

Which will not happen so long as the majority holds some religion (christians hate muslims, but they won't allow through any laws that don't favor religion/christianism and they will and have joined forces with muslims to guarantee that).

There shouldn't be such thing as "religious freedom". Some religions are nothing else than violent ideologies like nazism or fascism. Both Islam and Christianity do have good parts but it's just repeating common, obvious, not consistent, not properly described and illogical clichés about love, compassion towards other people etc. They don't even try to solve any philosophical problems like "who is a human" which leads to thousands of interpretations. Religion is just based on a dogma - there's no "why"-s; just a simple set of rules which obviously get obsolete with time. It's maybe useful for dumb people to keep them in order, but every Church uses it for political reasons trying to explain "what God had on his mind".
