So, many gay guys from a very early age have this preconceived idea that hanging around women should be natural, so by hanging around women they tend to pick up their mannerisms, speech patterns etc.
This is also promoted by swishy twinks, esp. nowadays, from social media, youtube, shitty C-rated movies and shit TV like Queer eye for the straight guy all promoting the GBF stereotype or the shopping guide homo.


That being said, you only notice the overly fem gaybois because they are the ones that tend to stick out.
There's probably tens of homos in your extended social circle that you don't know of.
Also, your gay mate is moaning he can't find any "decent" masc homos, either because he's ugly as sin or he's a swishy twink himself and masc fags aren't attracted to him.

Originally it was a coping method to deal with the shame and anger trusted toward the community, if you could be catty and look better you could feel better.
As time went on and we gained acceptance the camp became an identity and stereotype.
