This seems to work great for carrying a lot of stuff, but sometimes the enemy can see it sticking up out of the grass and it gives my position away. All in all, I think a level 2 is a better choice, even going so far as to drop it in the late game as well as my second primary to reduce the amount that I'm silhouetting
>>
lost? you mean stole

Mystery Ranch doesn't make anything that attaches directly to a PC but a lot of their military line can be purchased with a bolster system to keep the bag from moving around. Their hunting line is also worth a look.

Other companies to take a look at:
Alpha One Niner
Hill People Gear
Osprey

Tried a lot of different bags out, but this one is king. opinion on it ranges from person to person, but it is comfy on my back. Have no issue having it heavy at tall. Especially with kit on.

MOLLE 2 assault pack. I love mine. It's my hunting bag and my truck bag and my bugout bag. It is so well thought out and comfy and you can attach anything to it.

They're available for around $50 on eBay, most weeks. I'm thinking about buying a second while they're cheap.
>>
>>35190262
As long as we're talking about MOLLE: Does anybody know if it's possible to attach the ruck belt pad to the assault pack? The only quibble I have with my beloved bag is that there's no padding on the belt.

Bought a 5.11 RUSH 72 a few weeks ago. It's solid. Love the expansion between the main cargo area and the admin pouch. Probably designed for a helmet but you can cram anything in there that you need handy but is bulky. It's bigger than most other "3 day" type bags but it compresses well. Lots of organization on the inside too.

>>35195994
Kind of meant anything that is good quality, but doesn't have a lot of molle.

But you can get a 75L super comfy high quality bag for the same price of a 30L tac bag that weighs twice as much and last a fraction of the time.

Love the idea of tac bags but I've had shit luck with them.
I just need a all in one magic bag that will work for hiking/backpacking/campimg/hunting/mgs faggotry

This is largely correct but in terms of packs, T1 (US at least) have been using bags designed for them since the early 2000s. Anyone with a budget used modified hiking gear (mostly Kelty and Gregory), as well as some personal bags the more outdoorsy/gear queer guys brought along. At some point in 2003/4 a few of those dedicated outdoors guys in the SF community tracked down the designer behind Dana Designs and asked him to build some new bags on his frame/yoke system because it was pretty much the gold standard for load carriage in the outdoors community in the 80s and 90s. That (in part) led to the creation of Mystery Ranch, and now most units are using either off-the-shelf or custom built MR bags of various flavors.

>tfw cant afford mystery ranch
>>
>>35198499
What size bag anon? Budget?
>>
>>35198499

Depends on what yo're looking for. Osprey and REI have some pretty great budget options for outdoorsy type stuff, that also do OK for daily use. The Osprey Moosejaw Esteban gets recommended really consistently, though I've had zero experience with it. Vertx makes some really well organized bags but their stitching isn't as consistent as I'd like. To be entirely honest MR's overseas lines are getting pretty competitive- a lot of their daily and some of their hunting packs come in at around $150 or less. Can't really make any more specific suggestions without a role and budget tho.

roughly 30 liters, ideally under $150 or so. less would be better though
>>35198597
Thanks anon I'll check those out. what are the mystery ranch overseas lines? see above for rough budget. Ideally looking for something I can use for for .mil FTXs, hiking/camping, as well as not super tacticool so I can use it for daily use too.
>>35198606
lol that pos is the reason I'm looking for a new assault pack

>>
I dorked around with cheaper backpack options before finally splurging on a 5.11 Rush 12. I really like it but since I'm a civilian faggot I'm finding it doesn't have enough administrative space. It's a big compartment with one medium and two very small pockets. It's great but I find most of my stuff ends up in the medium sized admin pocket so much so that it gets overcrowded and easily unorganized.
>>
>>35198766

MR is moving production of most of their non-military/heritage line over to the Philippines since the market for US-made gear at US-made prices is pretty niche. Their Hunting, Daily, and Mountain lines are all made overseas at this point, and a lot of what they make comes in at near your budget. I'd personally say don't go for anything with a fixed harness, but if you see something you really like it's not the end of the world. Check their site for the various product lines & distributors page- they're finally retailing some of the overseas lines, so it's possible there's a store near you. Getting a chance to check gear out in person is always good.

As for other suggestions, I'll still rec the Moosejaw Esteban, Vertx Gamut/Gamut Plus, and Vertex EDC Ready.

Keep an eye on LBT's site. They regularly put their standard 3 day assault pack on sale in the neighborhood of $75. The last one I remember was labor day. They do it all the time though.

Not going greyman...? I guess it's fine if you play airsoft. Otherwise look into civilian packs.
>>
>>35198905
>>35198927
I see this one recommended pretty frequently, how well does it carry? In the pics it looks kinda flimsy and a bit odd the way the outer pouch juts out
>>35198870
How do the MR hiking/foreign production bags hold up to harder use like being dragged around through dense vegetation for extended periods of time? Also do you know anything about the MR Coulee 25? $170 with the adjustable yoke doesn't seem too bad.
>>
>>35199055

I thought the same about the flimsy part especially after watching a few jewtube vids. I was looking for a bag a few weeks ago and decided on a 5.11 bag instead. I was going to get the RUSH 24 but then found a deal on the RUSH 72 that made it damn near the same price as the smaller bag. The compression straps work well so now I have more room if I need it. Bag is solid as fuck. Here's the 24 if you haven't checked it out yet.

>>
>>35198810
I can tell you're a civilian- the rush 12 has plenty of room . You need to learn how to PACK it in there
>>
>>35199055

Ok, first off I'm going to have to go against the grain here and say I don't like any LBT I've tried. Mind you, I haven't owned any of their packs and really put them through their paces, but my experience with how they carry was pretty bad. Not cheap no-brand pack bad, but I've had Jansport bags I would carry over LBT.

As for your main question I have a few overseas MR pieces and thus far the stitching and overal QC has been fine on all of them. On forums I've seen a couple bags with 1-2 PALS loops sewed too short, but those people all got their returns covered under warranty. I wouldn't worry, the production quality of Asian factories has honestly surpassed that of most domestic ones (with a few exceptions).

As for the harder use aspect, I might be concerned with some of the lightweight robic fabrics- they're better for a more traditional mountaneering or trail-hiking- but the Coulee uses 420d nylon, which is about as tried and true as it comes in the textile world, and a very good compromise between weight and abrasion resistance. I wouldn't be concerned about wear and tear.

Can't say I've had any hands on time with the Coulee in particular, but I've liked what I've tried from the Mountain line thus far, and I'm a huge fan of the trizip design. but I'd say go with it, though I should say I don't know how much internal organization is present on the smaller Mountain packs- but there are a lot of sleeves and pouches that you can throw in if it becomes an issue.
