Would /k/ rather spend 300 burgerbux on recurve bow, arrows and extras, or black powder revolver, ammo, powder, and caps?
The bow would (provided I become proficient with it) get used as a hunting weapon, while the revolver would be used as a range toy.

For practical reasons, a gun would be better for self defense. Smaller, and you don't have to worry about having enough room with your arms to shoot
