What're your thoughts on handcannons?
By which of course I mean pistols chambered for obnoxiously large cartridges.
Neato range toys good luck doing anything else with them.
Such as this Marlin BFR, chambered for .450 Marlin, shooting an enormous 350-grain bullet at 1,814 feet per second.
I find the artillery of hand it is very good i have much like for it.
I've been using one quite extensively in Destiny 2 called "The Old Fashioned."

Nice for having fun at the range, don't see any real use for them unless it's some really tailored scenario.
.454 is by far my favorite cartridge. Performance matching .243Fudd in a handgun gives me boners.
I'd kill for the gun in OP's pic, though.
What's OP gun?

American education everybody.
>anti-material revolver
WHAT THE FUCK
>>35176312
RSh-12, cambered for 12.7mm

Phoneposting so didn't see filename.
>>35176320
You can talk shit all you want, in the end it's us Americans with the best gun rights in the history of mankind.
>>35176326
russians made nuclear hand-grenade with plutonium core.
an anti-material revolver is not even the fanciest of their ideas.
>>35175963
Are those the ones that people keep buying and selling after shooting them a couple of times?
>>35176351
How do you figure?
>>35176351
Somalia disagrees.
>>35175975
It's so cute!
>>35176543
This is a myth that needs to be dealt with.
They have super shit gun laws...but no enforcement because it's fucking Somalia.
The laws are shit just no one enforces and no one follows. We have great laws as merkians. Used to have even better.
>>35175963
>"The RSh-12 is a Russian-made anti-materiel revolver chambered in 12.7×55mm STs-130."
Holy shit I need this.
>>35176577
See...that's the thing. Their laws are shit, but enforced like shit.
Conversely, there are places in MURRIKAFUCKYEA that have Somali-tier laws, and those ARE enforced.
So, really, your argument is shit.
Good for bears
There is a gap between the cylinder and the barrel where a lot of gas/power escapes. How much speed/power escapes through there?
This is why I do not like wheel guns, this problem was never fixed, with the exception of that one antique revolver but no other gun company followed up on that.
It might seem like a non issue but that detail really bothers me.
>>35176604
That's not at all a counter at all.
Im rather impressed you missing the whole point.
But poor enforcement doesn't make it any less illegal. Take speeding for example. How many get caught vs doing it? I know I did it today. With about 1000 other "criminals" not one cop there.
The point is law is on the books if you were to follow the law it's a shit ton of hoops and bribes etc. Here were we do enforce you are right we have some spots with shit laws.
Our shit law areas still outdo a vast majority of humanity. And we are speaking of the laws. Sure its cheaper and easier to get a full auto illegally in Somlila than it is here. But it's illegal. I can walk into my lgs and walk out with a pistol legal today, try that in any other nation.
>>35176636
>that .44 magnum would've killed him, if not for the cylinder gap!
>>35176636
It's called the cylinder gap, and the effect on performance is negligible. The Mosin revolver closes the cylinder gap when you pull the trigger, and has the most atrocious trigger pull in creation.
>>35176636
How much power is used to cycle a semi auto?
It's also cool af to look at.
>>35176660
Only using its niche round others it still gaps. Those guns are pure shit I have 2 one sa one da/sa bought because k memes... I want my 89 dollars back.
>>35176653
Like I said, I know it is a non issue but it still drives me crazy knowing that the bullet could travel faster if that gap was closed.
>>35176660
>and the effect on performance is negligible.
IIRC Nagant revolver tests showed that something like 5 to 10% is lost in a conventional revolver design. Which is pretty negligible.
anyone have the webm of that trap with the mpx in "her" backpack?
asking for a friend
>>35176375
Remember when they made a magazine fed laser pistol for disabling cameras on space craft or some shit?
>>35176671
If 1800s Slavic drunk can figure it out design your own then. Not being a dick I'm saying have some fun blue print and build.
Also, if it was figured out in the pre ww1 era and we dont use it universality it's not a big deal. I do get you on efficency but clearly people who know more about guns than us figure it's not worth it.

I carry a dessert eagle when I go camping should a bear attack me.
Litterally no other use for it.
>>35175963
pic related is really a cut-down shotgun as opposed to a proper pistol but I guess it still applies
>>35176000
Christ almighty
I don't enjoy shooting anything more powerful than .357 Mag without a buttstock. Last time I shot .454 Casull my wrist hurt for hours afterwards.
>>35176642
>the point is laws on the books
Ok, then. Laws.
Laws ONLY restrict. Any lawyer will show you. What you seem to be saying is that the laws, which restrict the SHIT out of any "untouched" actions or barely place limits on whatever the governing body decides to do, actually GIVE us the freedom to go and buy a pistol (to use your example).
Think about that. We aren't "more free", we're just "less restricted" until something else comes along, but then we get back to the point where we need to look at enforcement.
>>35176742
>>35176789
We were discussing law anon. That's all I was simply trying to say, it's well more legal here than there.
And I disagree with both our laws and theirs but, that's neither here nor there.
>>35176702
I heard it was for putting pinholes in spacesuit visors. Even though normal guns will work in space (for a while, till they overheat) you don't want to deal with recoil when you're floating in zero G.
14.5×114mm handgun when?
