SCAR is superior, obviously. The FAL has... a carry handle? Longer barrel? I don't really see any advantage that a rifle designed right after WW2 has over a brand new battle rifle.

The SCAR is popular with SOF for a reason, and they have no problem using older weapons if they are legitimately better, like the M79. When a rifle is entirely phased out, it happens for some very good reasons

The lighter, more accurate, more reliable, more modular one

The scar is better in pretty much every way, how is this an argument

Much as I despise the SCAR for being overhyped mall ninja bait, if I had to choose between SCAR and FAL for a practical rifle, I'd probably pick the SCAR.

Of course, the correct answer is AR-10.
