This is an M95 Steyr rifle. They were used by the Austro-Hungarians in WW1 and unlike most bolt-actions you pull the bolt straight back and then push it forward. It is chambered in 8x56R (The first number is the diameter and the second is the length of the case; both in millimeters and the R stands for rimmed) which feeds via En bloc clips (meaning they stay in the gun until all rounds fired).

Here's a simple chart for handgun ammunition:

(Regular --- Magnum)
22lr -- 22mag
38sp -- 357mag
9mm -- 45apc
40cal -- 10mm
50ae -- 500s&w

Any regular ammunition handgun can fire only that one caliber. Any handgun capable of firing a magnum caliber can fire both the magnum and the regular bullets.

For rifle calibers there is sometimes an l or r in the caliber name. This always indicates a left-handed or right-handed rotation in the rifling. You need a rifle with matching rifling direction to fire these bullets properly. If you cross load them the barrel tries to spin the bullets one direction, but the bullets want to go in the opposite way, and you will lose accuracy and increase wear in the barrel.

so im makeing a program to help memorize caliber for weapons

you all know it since day 1 but for me (and people who cant buy weapon as a citizen) i think it a fun way to learn it
