Bumping for all the enjoyment watching his snider vids gave me.

The guy deserves a gunchannel award for this.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNgQi4vEDXM

The only gun channel that comes close
is capandball

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j5x7psIl5PA

All other gun channels pale in comparison with a nod to forgotten weapons because its pretty good too..

britishmuzzleloaders is dedicated, and his videos are really informative, he puts in a lot of effort (marching around the mountains in full get up on your own is eccentric, but admirable).

I think duelist1954 deserves an honourable mention through.

Gas operated with black powder.
It will foul up in like two to three shots.
>>
>>35164340
>kalishnakov
you can run ~half a mag of blackpowder x39 through an ak before the fowling effects it, and it can shoot just fine without a gas tube

A reminder that black powder is comfiest powder and smokeless ruined warfare, imagine the cool shit we could of had in WW1 if smokeless didnt exist
>>
>>35163803
Hey thanks for this. I was wondering how I was going to feed my Martini-Henry
>>
>>35163803
britishmuzzleloaders is truly amazing. I watched the hell out of his Enfield videos before I bought my SMLE.

His video on Tel e Kebir (I may have botched the spelling) is also amazing.

Now I want to see a black powder Maxim machine gun in action.
>>
>>35165057
but anon, the Maxim predates smokeless powder itself

Has there ever been an AK torture test with black powder 7.62x39mm that continued until the gun experienced problems? Or a black powder torture test with any modern gun until it experienced problems for that matter? The most I've seen done is a single magazine before the people stop.

>and it can shoot just fine without a gas tube
Except that video shows it failing to go all the way into battery half the time.

Interesting. I've seen videos of Glocks and other pistols getting off a similar amount of shots with black powder without failing. I wonder if recoil operated guns are less susceptible to fouling.

The guy also seems to have a video of using the same ammo in an SKS, but it does worse and only gets 6 rounds off before failing:

Override it? Turn it off?
>>
>>35165241
Because it hit the block. Just flare it.

>No empty brass to load
Either I need to go to the range and shoot my martini or I need more brass. I also may need to cast bullets for it too.
>>
>>35164325
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
>>
>>35164542
In fairness I prefer a mk II* three band and socket bayonet. Still a wonderful project
>>
>>35164868
Actually using modern primers it is quite possible to make smokeless using just airfloat charcoal and saltpetre. But that is another conversation. What the sulphur does it just lower the ignition temp. The great thing about britishmuzzleloaders and capandball is they are really thorough and detailed and love their history. Their videos are fantastic and head and shoulders above others.

>>No empty brass to loadEither I need to go to the range and shoot my martini or I need more brass. I also may need to cast bullets for it too.

Lee makes dies for the martini and snider. I prefer old kynoch brass but the magtech stuff is widely available and used. One o the great things about old BP brass is it will reload almost forever once fireformed. You only need to reanneal and resize it if you want to fireform it for another gun.
>>
Because loading those takes more patience and time than .44-40.
I hate loading .44-40.

Oh god why did I laugh so loud at that picture
