How does /k/ control their gun habit as far as buying guns and accessories goes? For me, I calculated I could donate plasma every 3 days and make $395 a month to spend how I want. And I can keep doing this so long as I don't get aids or become criminal scum. I just need to stay hydrated and consume lots of protein.

TL;DR
I whore my body out to pay for funs.
>>
>>35163695
I turned 21 a few months ago so I've been on a spending spree for a bit. I put research into my future purchases because I don't want to end up with some shitty gun I don't like. Also, I like to keep $2000 in my safe at all times if there is a gun that I really want to get.
>>
>>35163695

I went to college and got a job instrumentation in a powerplant at the age of 21 making 27.50/hr as an apprentice. I live within my means, have 15k saved, just finished a 3k precision hunting build but waiting on stock and I'm 22.

>I like to brag

Pick a not fun major that has lots of demand and you'll have a high paying job, out of a dozen of my friends only 2 are doing as well as me, one is in the same field, the other a mechanic.
>>
>>35163695
>How does /k/ control their gun habit as far as buying guns and accessories goes?

By being a poor government wage slave that's more concerned with:

>shelter
>food
>utilities

Hmmm.... I hadn't considered plasma and blood donations though...

Still kicking myself for not jumping on a Remington 7400 I found on the consignment rack at the LGS up the road for 300ish. Even if it was 30-06.

However I m looking into a BAD vert setup (with the new wood bits) for my next AR project once I get the long stoke piston idea I've had rattling around in my head for a couple years into a feasible prototype stage anyway.

.....actually on second thought I'll just do an ironwood stock and foreend set...I did the math in my head just now and it's a thousand fucking dollars for just the furniture from battle arms....

I like the concept, but....no. that's a bit too pricey.
>>
>>35163755

I work in one of the lower paying plants in the south too, depending on where you live you can make a lot more in a good field. Being an operator is only like a 2 year degree but they make as much as me just with an unusual schedule 3 weeks on 8-12hr days 1 week off. Save for school OP. Plenty of overtime in both, I had a few 2300$ in one week checks so far
>>
>>35163773
Thinking of using TA, credits from college from before military, and credits from my military training too get a degree in something useful. That way I could go 3 letter agency when I'm out. If not that then contact for my mos.
>>
>>35163695
>How does /k/ control their gun habit as far as buying guns and accessories goes
I make over six figures, aka I'm not poor.
>>
>>35163755

Yeah, Bruh!

You go to OSU-IT?
>>
>>35163812

Bruh,

DSST, CLEP, AP, IB, ECE, etc tests for college credits will save you a fuck load of time and money.

Make sure to get your Joint Service Transcript and be willing to take competency exams at the college of your choice.
>>
>>35163695
Like with everything I spent money on, I just do it in moderation.
Last 3 months I've just been buying new computer parts, to replace everything and get a nice overkill computer, just because.

I try to not waste money on trivial things or things I don't really want. Usually I'll wait or sleep on something if I want it, better to wait a week or two and make a good decision than going on impulse buys.

Also just get a job.
>>
>>35163857
This.. and Save Cash. Not everything needs to be scooped up as soon as you see it.
>>
Stop viewing firearms ownership as a hobby and more as a responsibility. You are responsible for learning the safe operation and handling the guns of the guns you own. Adding more guns just adds more to your job.

Trust me. Having had 2 phases of firearms obsession, the key is to get what you need, specialize, and practice. Yeah it's not as fun or interesting, but it beats staring at your safe and seeing a bunch of worthless metal that you haven't touched in the past 2 years. Also don't fall for the collector meme, unless it's milsurp and you spend an autistic amount of time researching shit, it ain't worth shit
>>
>>35163872
My blood money is my impulse buy money. It's even cap on a different card then my other money.

I put it on my gun credit card. When it gets paid to zero, I buy another one.

I have a 10 month old and combined my wife and I make 65k right now, so I don't have much money for funs. Mostly save money by reloading. I also have a bit of a rotating collection though, I've got a total of 36 firearms of which 10 are guns I don't plan on parting with unless someone offers me way more than what they're worth.
>>35163695
Sucks not to be master race AB+. I was making $75 per donation.
>>35163906
Good goy, pay that interest, forget about cash discounts, you need to build your credit!
>>
>>35163958
Combine 65k? That's what about $15 an hour. That's a minimum wage in some places. That's still a lot better than some people do though I guess. What's stopping you from doing better?
>>
>How does /k/ control their gun habit
I dont. I just accept it and let it wash over me. How do i justify spending on guns? Its actually
not a bad investment, guns and ammo hold their value relatively well. At the very least, there are far worse hobbies to sink money into.
>>
>>35163837

Holy fuck, you knew, yeah I did, doing great. I'm happy
>>
>I calculated I could donate plasma every 3 days and make $395 a month to spend how I want

Why do Americans not know what "donate" means?
>>
>>35163903

Good line of thinking, basically don't buy a bunch of junk. I buy common models that are reliable and accurate for a niche, spend enough to tune them to what I want and invest the rest of my time and fun money on ammunition for a purpose. Glock 19 for carry, 34 for target and camping, built AR15 and 22 for pest removal, 835 for quail to goose and vermin, remington 700 in 300wm for long range hunting. Each gun has minor to major changes from its base model aside from a bhp,Tokarev, and an m&p40 I got cheap. The bhp was for showing fudds a decent all metal 9mm, collectable, and new people love it. The Tokarev and 40cal I got just for the round it shoots
>>
>>35163958

You played yourself.

She's only working ~20hrs a week right now, she keeps the house and parents our son while I'm at work. I'm about to have my A&P license soon and when he's three she's going back to her corporate job.

We'd dated previously when I was in the Navy l, didn't work out. 5 years later I quit my logging job in out west and came home cause my father passed away and to help my family. We'd only been dating again for about six months and she got knocked up. We'll be on a good stable path here in about a year or two where money isn't as much of a concern.

I only make 55,000 a year but I don't eat out often, maintain my vehicle myself, buy everything used and take very cheap vacations.

I have cheap taste in guns too, which helps.
>>
>>35165745

Depending on where you live, 55k a year could be a lot to poor. In a poorer state 400k will get you a nice lake view 3000 square foot house for example
>>
>>35166045

Southern Ontario. Too close to Toronto for anything below 400k to be anything but a shack.
>>
>>35163725
>Also, I like to keep $2000 in my safe at all times if there is a gun that I really want to get.
I wish I was that smart at 21. that will pay off for you
>>
I'm 22, live with my parents, don't go to school and have nogf so my budget is pretty big.

Then again, I try to control my spending by only buying more ammo if I ever feel the need to buy another gun. The more ammo I buy, the more practice I can put in as opposed to buying a new gun, having to order a holster and wait for that, buy extra magazines etc etc. I'm at a point where I would sooner spend money on a $400-$500 class than buy another gun.

I personally find buying a new gun to be fucking annoying but who am I fooling, I'm on my way to my FFL dealer to pick up a USP 45. There's some guns that I want but it's a very small amount, those guns I'll buy.
>>35163903
>the key is to get what you need, specialize, and practice.

This. Seeing gains in measurable performance is very enjoyable. Setting standards for yourself when you go shooting and gradually seeing better times further on is more rewarding than impulse purchasing yet another gun you won't even break the 1,000rd count on.
>>
I have no kids, no wife or gf, no friends. I never go out and i have no other hobbies. Im lonely as hell, but atleast i have a lot of guns.
>>
>>35166511
holy shit I'm a 22 year old neat on my way to my FFL to buy a usp 9 compact
>>
>>35166045
I live in a poorer US state and 55k/yr is more than I or any of my family has ever made in our lives.

but hey, when you choose not to go to college, you know what you're getting in to.
>>
I would have a lot more guns but I buy a lot of ammo instead. typically when I see a gun I like, I ask myself "how many rounds of 9mm could I buy with this?" and talk myself out of it.
>>
>>35166537
Better to be lonely trust me. I wish I knew that back then. Now I'm stuck with a family I don't want
>>
>>35163695
Sell sperm on the days you can't do plasma
>>
>>35166537
Same. I only talk to 2 friends really, and that is when I want someone to go to the range with me.
I really don't mind being alone, I prefer it.

My place only lets me go twice a week and I can only get $280/mo. Going again tomorrow.

Hhmmmm...
>>
>>35163755

>>
>>35166996
Hahaha. Most places are twice a week. But it only take 1-2 days to regenerate plasma. And the say twice a week meaning 2 times every 6 days. (1 time every 3 days)

No. But I learned I can't give from my left arm. Vein sits on too much muscle and causes constriction issues and swelling.
>>
>>35163695

I had a job in the oil field when I was 20, saved up about $20k and blew a good chunk of it on guns. Worked at gun stores over the next 3 years and accumulated a ton of accessories and a few more guns.

Now I know more about guns than I ever thought I would, and I've got my taste refined down pretty carefully. The problem is I'm sitting on bags of shit that I wouldn't buy again if I know what I know now.

So I've been selling my excess accessories and guns off bit by bit over the last year and putting some of the money into getting the ones I'm keeping set up perfectly.

Once I've culled sufficiently, I'll probably mostly spend on ammo and getting a nice set of gear put together. Maybe trade something in if a compelling enough choice comes along. I'm pretty much over having 12+ guns, I'd like to get trimmed down to a carefully curated 6-8 top-shelf items.

>>35163903

This.
>>
I work at a store that also happens to sell guns. Most of the time I don't give a shit about the new guns unless there's a really good sale or a price mistake that I can go off (they let employees have price mistakes, I'm surprised)

Used guns though, oh boy, I put a gun on layway every other week. I don't pick them all up though. I just put them on layaway for a bit to do research on the gun and the price. If I do want it, what I do is that I put them on layaway until there's a store wide promotion that used guns also fall under, then redo the layaway with the cheaper price. Again, I'm surprised they don't shit on employees for doing this. It's not like we're doing it in a sneaky way either, a manager has to do the layway paperwork for employees. I'm averaging out one gun a month, with guns varying around 275-700 before discount.
>>
>>35163958

Rough. My wife and I have a combined of just over $100k and between funneling into savings, investments, and paying her student loans off I feel like a kid would just shut me the fuck down.
>>
>>35163695
Hold up, you can make over $300 a month just by donating blood? Shieeet mang, that's a nice extra bit of spending money.

>>
>>35163695
I just try my damnedest to keep the bills paid. I don't have spare cash for guns just yet.
>>
>>35166511
That's smart, having a fuckton of guns feels good but having fewer guns and being skilled with them will feel better. I just bought my 4th gun, a 22 revolver, because the one I've been lusting after was available for a great price near me and, for some mental gymnastics, the price of .22 makes it so much cheaper to shoot hundreds of rounds for what a 50 box of .380 costs. I've promised myself to not buy any more guns for the rest of year, and just stockpile ammo and prepper shit while using my range pass to gitgud at the guns I already have.

The buy high of a new gun is pretty fucking great though, lovingly learning all the parts first-hand, fingerfucking it, showing it off to your gun buddies..... I must resist.
>>
>>35163958
>Sucks not to be master race AB+. I was making $75 per donation.

Wait a second, there is actually a demand for AB+ blood?
>>
I'm a homo so I'd have to lie and I make 6 figures, but an extra 300 a month just to sell my body to vampires is pretty temping.
>>
>>35167411
3% of people have it only AB- is more rare.
>>
>>35167411
Yes, dude. Hospitals and emergency care services NEED blood, and they have quotas of blood that they need filled.

Not only that, but blood doesn't stay viable forever. Sure, they add an anticoagulant here, centrifuge the bitch over there, and do everything medically possible to prevent the blood from expiring. BUT, when blood stops interacting with, and receiving cues from, your endocrine system, your blood starts to die.

It's useless at that point.
>>
>>35167460
>>35167472
I think what he meant is that AB can only be given to other ABs unlike >>35167350 where O can be given to anybody
>>
>>35167489
O- master race, you're welcome any MN fags that needed a transfusion in the last few years, i'm inside of you now.
>>
>>35163695
If you're gonna whore out your body for fun, why not go full homo?

I've been a backpage escort for over a year now and I'm clearing over 2k a week. And that's not even me trying hard. If I'm not too picky, I could make 3-4K easily.
>>
>>35167546

Wait, seriously?

$2k a week? How many clients are you taking a week? What are you offering? What kind of clients are they?
>>
>>35167472
I've actually been refused when trying to donate to the American Red Cross in the past for having AB+ blood. Hence my shock that there is a demand for it.
>>
>>35167557
$200/hour, for whatever they want, no rough stuff, no bondage, no blood. $1k if they want me to spend the night

I see 2-3 clients every couple of days, some of my clients are repeat customers. Aside from the actual fee that they pay, they also like tipping me well because I make them "feel nice and wanted".

Most of my clients are older, closet homos. White collar-types. Most just want a quick bj or rub and tug, but some just pays for companionship, just someone to listen to them talk.
>>
>>35167559
That was for ARC, not for local needs.
>>
>>35164219
And how much do you think you are going to make as an A&P?
>>
>>35167618

Man, it's tempting, but I just don't know if I'm homo enough. Massive body hair and dad guts are fucking tough for me to handle, and I'm sure that would be 90% of the clientele.

On the other hand, it would let me buy NOD's and put more money into investments. Do you host, use motels, or meet them at places of their choosing typically?
>>
>>35167618
Sounds cool. But it'd be hard to balance with my wife and all.

>>35167659
Also this. I don't think I'm gay enough to suck 100 year old dick for a living.
>>
>>35167640
So do you just show up at a hospital and say, "I'm here to sell blood" or something?
>>
>>35167800
Blood donation locations. They are usually associated with blood banks and plasma centers, but each area has their own places.

Btw, I'm just the guy with the "blood dies fast" rant from earlier, not the donor dude.
>>
>>35167800
>>35168391
OP here. But he is right. Just Google places near you and you'll find some. Especially if you are near a city. But make sure you are going to a plasma donation center not a blood donation center.
