Not OP, but what do you recommend then? Russian? East German? Good luck finding decent prices on those.
Chink shit can be good shit, OP. Take my Public Security Forces SKS for example.
Also, no one answered me in the last thread. Were the Public Security Forces really like a Chinese secret police, grabbing people in the dead of night kind of shit? Or were they just regular cops?
>>35155132
they were probably something akin to nort korein secret police, or something like that
>>35154834
>buying a Yugo instead of a Chinese
Enjoy your no chrome and grenade launcher that will constantly jam up the cycling due to its defective switch design.
>>35155132
Security Forces were the lovely folks who made you go away if Glorious Chairman said you needed to go away. They're a step above your usual cops or so on.
>>35155124
You buy a Chinese that's in good condition. Personal preference comes into play for things like stamped vs milled trigger guard, but they're functionally identical.
As a canuck, it's funny to me how the ranking/perception of the different models of sks is almost entirely flipped on its head in the states.
Canadian ranking (generally)
1. Yugo, most sought after, sold for ~$600
2. Chinese, generally in better condition than Russians ~$240
3. Russian ~$240
The Chinese and the Russian are pretty much interchangeable up here, it's funny how you muricans value the Russian far more
>>35156056
In America, you USUALLY get:
>Chinese = $350
>Yugo = $400-$450
>Russian = $500+
I would imagine this has to do with the massive amount of Chinese SKS's being in the country, at least compared to the other two. Yugo's aren't really popular in the USA, given their expensive proprietary parts and lack of chrome barrels.
As for condition, it's funny because it's the polar opposite here. Chinese SKS's are often the victims of Bubba (or just in crappy condition), while Russian SKS's are safe queens and mostly in immaculate condition.

>Jam up the cycling due to its defective switch design
Thank you for just informing me you have no experience nor knowledge of Yugoslavian SKS's, you may now leave the board.
fag

>implying
The gas cutoff lever (or whatever its proper name is) can get fouled up if not cleaned often enough. This isn't a problem in the the other models.
>>35156677
>can get fouled up if not cleaned often enough
So then clean it? Don't be a lazy nigger. Take care of your things.
>>35155003
Wtf, did someone use a screwdriver to pry the lever up?
>>35157616
>needing to ever clean slav guns
>>35154834
OP you did a good job that there is a beautiful papovka. Pic related is my yugo refurb.
>>35155660
Anon I see you post this Chinese propaganda all over /k/ and you even posted it in my thread asking for help finding an SKS a while ago. I must say my yugo is a damn fine rifle - just as high quality and enjoyable as some of my nicest rifles like my colt SP1 or my pre 64 Winchester 94.
I have no isssues with my non chromed barrel (which is more accurate btw). I also believe that you praise the Chinese SKS to justify your purchase. It is a general concensus that the chink SKS has the worst fit and finish of all variants and the least collectability. I don't need my milsurps to be high speed low drag light weight tools either. They're for fun.
>>35159055
>(which is more accurate btw)
That has never been proven. In fact, the one year Russians didn't use chrome in their SKS's, it became LESS accurate.
>It is a general concensus that the chink SKS has the worst fit and finish of all variants
The Chink fit/finish is absolute garbage on the export models (to the point some are even made of random force matched parts with the numbers ground off), but their military models have fit/finish on par with Russian models.
That being said, the issue with the Yugos are due to no chrome lining so you're utterly buttfucked by corrosive ammo, along with having odd proprietary parts and useless deadweight attached to them. That, and as mentioned earlier in the thread, they lack the trademark "it never needs to be cleaned because it's slavshit" ability thanks to the gas switch and no chrome lining.
Okay, seriously, what the hell are SKS bayos made from and/or treated with? Is it just some kind of cheap chroming? I've seen some SKSs that were completely beat to shit and rusted to hell except their bayonets always just look pristine.
Why didn't Russia, China, et al just make/treat the rest of the metal the same way?
>>35159714
The blades are chrome coated IIRC just like the barrels. The reason it isn't done for the full gun is because it's costly AND it would make the gun shiny and easy to spot.
>>35155660
spotted the retard, no chrome is meaningless if you dont shoot corrosive, no one is going to deny it is preferred but in this case not necessary. Also the Gas switch has never given me any trouble and its great to just go bolt action on the fly.
>>35158540
>not taking care of all your guns no matter how cheap or how reliable memes say they are
>>35157637
it would appear as if that were the case
Chink shit is no so bad
OP here, just a question for you guys
is it normal for my raifu to have a sweet aromatic smell?
>>35161605
Yes the smell of good woman
>>35156134
I'm pretty sure that the US got the earlier and nicer waves of Russian surplus SKS's as well, which might contribute to the difference in quality
>>35161651
thank you anon, that is completely true
