People often argue the English, French or Israelis are America's "greatest allies"
I find this questionable since our first major wars were against England, and we only assisted them in WWI due to perfidy.
Israel just lets us land our planes in their district so we can have the privilege of fighting their wars for them.

Personally I think the Choctaw are America's greatest ally.

No, it still remains very much the British. Politically, yes a mixed bag dependent on the administration of the day.
However, in terms of miltary/intelligence you won't find anyone deeper integrated than the British.
