it's called khat.
>>
No.
>>
>>35151976
Not with the current prices on parts and accessories it's not. Fuck bolt overrides though. I like AK's in 7.62 because steel ammo runs better in them, otherwise I would have gone AR for sure
>>
>>35151976
No, in some ways it's underrated with how people insist on ruining them with short-stroke pistons or regurgitate widely misinterpreted bullshit and anecdotes from Vietnam.
>>
>>35151976
Nah. It's a cheap reliable rifle that is accurate and effective at stopping human targets, M855 not included.
>>
>>35152543
M855 is seriously mediocre in general but if you have a 20" barreled rifle it can still perform passably, that velocity isn't for nothing.
Kind of gets pretty fucking slipshod as you pass 16" barrels though.
>>
>>35151976
It's one of the two intermediate caliber rifle designs that matter.
>>
>>35153263
That extra 50-150fps really doesn't make a difference. At all.
>>
>>35152316
Before someone opens their fucking piehole; short-stroke pistons are fundamentally very sound gas systems, it's just that trying to fit them in an AR15 is invariably retarded and a waste of time and money.
>>
>>35153271
>200fps
Between a 14.5" and 20" barrel?

Oh I thought you said 16", because you did.

Even so~

Absolute disgust.

Are we agreeing that there isn't more than 150-200fps difference in any of these cases?
And that barrel length is just a meme as long as it's over 14.5ish?

Could you not?

No. It's the greatest for a reason.

They make me sad, fixed or flat top, make a decision.
I'm all about that fixed carry handle.

But then, I'm the guy who doesn't like using optics, so what do I know?

>>35153328
20" master race.
>>
>>35153579
Do you personally just prefer irons, or are you one of those people who actually thinks they are functionally better?
>>
>>35153639
I know there are tactical advantages for most people, but I'm nearsighted, and more importantly, I have astigmatism, think of it as the reds and blues of light kind of breaking sillouhettes up and shifting/offsetting them, at anything but really near distance, causing a sort of double image.

My glasses fixes this and makes my vision crystal clear, however they are limited, I can not watch 3D movies without horrible eyestrain, and I can't properly use optics like binoculars or scopes for the same reason.
What happens is that it becomes incredibly difficult for my eyes to focus at all, like a sort of disturbing itching/tickling feeling in the space of my head between my eyes and above my nose (I'm not sure what biological mechanism this is), the longer I try to focus the worse it gets, and eventually it forms a headache.
It's near impossible for me to get any kind of focus, it always breaks.

If I were to fight, giving me a rifle with an optic would be detrimental to my performance, with irons I could at least aim.

If you want to see how this looks like from my point of view, google some images and footage of chromatic aberration, in photography, this means your camera lens is flawed, with digital artists and some videogames, applying chromatic aberration to the image is used as a lazy shorcut for making it "cool". I hate when people does this because it's ugly and makes it feel like someone has taken my glasses. It's perhaps one of the worst aesthetic memes in modern design, and I want it to die. Some games won't let you turn this effect off, sometimes it's used in movies.

I rate the AR-15 as a gun.
>>
>>35152316
I have both piston and DI ARs. They both work fine.
>>
>>35153889

I have basically the same issues as you but I've never had much trouble using normal scopes.

I've never tried an illuminated optic though.
