No I'M NOT. 5.56 over penetrates like a motherfucker through drywall, you never know when you're gonna have to use your gun and you can completely shoot through and hit something on the other side that you don't mean to with 5.56. A shot gun is the best home defense weapon to NOT land yourself in a legal hole.

The ejector screw came loose after 1250 rounds and damaged the receiver when the back of the bolt ripped it out. I was shooting with my buddies and once when I went to cycle the action it wouldn't go all the way back. I thought there was some dirt or something in the action, so I mortared the gun pretty hard and bye bye aluminum threads. The next 590a1 I get I'm going to JB Weld the ejector screw. Would a 9mm carbine that is suppressed, has optics and takes the same mags as your carry pistol be a good home-defense gun? One might argue it's not as powerful as an AR or a shotgun, yet people trust their short-barrel 9mm pistols to stop an assailant outside home... The potential for suppression, ammo logistics, negligible recoil and lack of overpenetration of a 9mm carbine would be nice in my mind.

It's not all it's cracked up to be, Anon. They're cool, but it's not fun to shoot. The only benefit I see in owning one is the capacity, and the fact that it's so compact, so it'd be easy to clear a house with. Not that you'd want to use it for a HD gun, it's louder than sin and makes one hell of a fireball. You and Tyrone would be blind and deaf even if you didn't kill him.

>>35154835
I wasn't necessarily referring to home defense when I mentioned capacity, but if you believe that limiting yourself as far as capacity in a defense firearm goes just because "x is enough", good for you. I have no idea what you're getting at in regards to your pump comment. If you mean to chamber a round, that should have already been done long before you actually need to use the weapon. Otherwise you just pump it like normal.
>>
>>35154589

I need to polish and oil it more. I probably don't treat it with as much respect as my other guns, I keep it clean but it tends to get surface rust.

Nothing tactical about your shotgun.

Just dump her anon, or did you both sign the lease together?

Beretta 92FS. I've been considering like a 300blk AR, but if I'm honest, there hasn't been a violent crime committed in my 99.5% township in memory.

That's how I grew up. No need for that shit, really. Now i'm in a 85% white township so I keep a G19 in the drawer. Still won't ever have a need for it.

Yeah, I've got to countersignal the RIA hate.
I've never owned one, but my cousin got a RIA 1911 a few years back for a couple hundred bucks. It's obviously not the nicest thing in the world, but he's never had a single issue with it, and it's pretty damn accurate for what it is.
>>
>>35159549

I see /k/ recommend the RIA all the time, every gun has it's detractor

Once you get a big boy job, spend a few hundred dollars more and get something respectable. No offense.

I like it, solid choice. Maybe just run a light with it.

I have plenty of respectable things now, but the weird brand loyalty/hate that some people on here have is very odd. You're saying, "Hey, we've established there's nothing wrong with your RIA 1911, but it's not up to snuff in terms of things I read about on the Internet, and therefore I believe you should replace it."
>>
>>35159617

No thanks, I'm happy with what I have, I don't buy guns based on social status
