But actually, it might have something to do with the fact that the category "weapons" is so outrageously broad that it attracts all sorts, so our collective experience is so much larger than other forums.

It might also have something to do with 4chan attracting people who are mildly autistic, so people on the weapons board will have an autistic amount of knowledge and interest in guns

The autists here are self aware, unlike the autists on other forums. Once they become self aware, with no life, they can channel and weaponize the autism. The board is also loosely moderated so you get used to speaking freely, and having others speak freely as well, which exchanges more volume of information. Yes there is alot of group think, but there is still ALOT of experience and knowledge on this board, there probably isn't a firearm in the world you could post and not get help or find someone knowledgeable on it. Tbh the board was taken a dive the past few years, I think peak /k/ was 2013-2014
