Eh, it can be.

I used to reenact WWII German but haven't done it for a decade or more now. Some units are definitely better than others, and some guys are definitely more autistic than others.

Considered getting into a WWI dough-boy impression, the guys doing that era seem much more genuinely knowledgeable and accuracy based it than lots of guys in WWII, especially the ones you tend to find in SS or US Airborne impressions.

Why do people never reenact interesting roles? Everyone wants to Wehrmacht,101st Airborne, or SAS.

I remember going to reenactment/weapons demonstration (which was cool--they has a flamethrower tank) and a guy I talked to said he wished his tiny Japanese friend had shown up in as an Iwo Jima defender just to cut the boredom.

IMO there needs to be more Wehrmacht/non SS reenactors, lately everyone I've seen has been SS. DAK would be pretty cool for those in CA/AZ/NV

When you get your field gear be sure to go and crawl around in the dirt and the mud for a little while and then was it off. Makes it look really authentic.
