Does anybody with Glocks notice a problem with aluminum case ammo? I went shooting today and noticed the shots were all over the place but when I switched to brass case they were right on.
>>
>aluminum ammo in a Glock
nigga do you WANT to blow your hand off??
>>
>>35140076
It's my first one and Glock said it would be fine, even if I'm shooting the meme master. It got noticeable worse as the gun got hot.
>>
>>35140059
What brand aluminum ammo? It's entirely possible that the bullets were missized, but usually something like that comes down to the shooter.

aluminium ammo has problems with literally every gun

just stay the fuck away from it
>>
>>35140076
>aluminum is similar if not the same hardness as brass

Explain your post pls
>>
>>35140126
Never had an issue. Shit works man.
>>
>>35140109
I fell for Hickocks shilling of federal ammo but I decided to Jew out and get aluminum case at half the cost.

>>35140126
>>35140140
Well it gave the G23 shit problems, it was so bad the wife was confused too. I put about 200 rounds total earlier.
>>
>>35140128
Learn to use Google, scrub.

>brass: Brinell hardness of 100
>aluminum: Brinell hardness of 70
Compared to tool steel (what your extractor and barrel are going to be hardened to), which has a Brinell hardness in the 600-700+ range.

http://www.hammersource.com/Hardness-Comparisons
>>
>>35140128
Hardness isn't the point, brass has better ductility, seals the chamber better, and doesn't split or crack as readily as aluminium.
>>
>>35140059
Sounds like placebo effect. Load 5 rounds of each and shoot, try your hardest to keep it neutral and if you wanna go full autism, have someone else shoot the ammo you think is inaccurate.
>>
>>35140140
Why use aluminium when steel is the same price and more reliable?
>>
>>35140198
The thing is I did go full autismo and do exactly that. I loaded half mags for three, shot them, did the same for brass. Did it single shot a second, did it rapid fire also. Even tried both hands at the same test parameters. Made the Mrs. try also and same results. I just am stumped because I never heard that would happen and cheap Win white box was more accurate than the federal.
>>
>>35140233
Hard to say, I personally have never noticed "accuracy" issues with handguns and Ive shot steel to defense ammo. With rifles is pretty obvious and easy but handguns are harder since so many more factors are added.

Question also, at want distance are you shooting?
>>
>>35140300
I did 50ft, 30 ft, 20 ft, and 6 ft. I'm not kidding the group with aluminum was so bad it looked like I sprayed it with an uzi. I had at best a one foot group with the aluminum at 50, then with brass it was 3-4 inches. I could hit orange clays on the side of an embankment with the brass, but no joke the aluminum wouldn't hit man sized target papers.
>>
>>35140076
r u retarded

I've shot Blazer and I didn't notice anything.
>>
>>35140182
I'm not sure if this applies to aluminum ammo as it may be lacquer coated but one of the common issues with aluminum on steel contact is that the aluminum oxide that forms on the surface of the aluminum acts as an abrasive since it has a hardness that's off the acceptable range for the Brinell scale (around 2000-2500 Vickers hardness), the same stuff is commonly used for sandpaper.

Never had issues with Federal Aluminum in 4 9mm handguns.
>Steyr M9-A1
>SIG P938
>Glock 26
>HK P30SK

If anything, I've noticed it's got slighly more recoil than brass. I think this is an attempt to compensate for any deficiency in the chamber seal compared to brass-cased. Leads me to believe it might kill a recoil spring a lil faster but I guarantee you won't notice

They've been just as reliable and accurate as the federal brass...
>>
>>35141369
The thing is I was using two different brands and the supposed cheaper shitty looking rounds were significantly more accurate. Trip wasn't a total loss though I found a couple hundred brass cases of .223
>>
>>35140417
I don't buy it often, but if it's the only decent thing that walmart has in stock on my way to the range, i'll pick up federal aluminum 9mm. It's ran in my Glocks, CZ75, p226, and shield without any problems.

Glock sucks.

Firstly my names not jerry, second I don't flinch nigger, third the flinching would be an issue for both ammo types.
>>
>>35140059
Awww.... come on, it's a Glock.... it can shoot any type of ammo... fucking Glocktard!
>>
>>35140417
>Have Ruger 9e
>Eats steel, alum, brass all the same
>>
>>35140059
Aluminium is sketchy, too soft, can bend, dent and crack easy, which compromises the structure and performance of the entire bullet. You can get the Federal brass for pretty much the same price, just stick with that
>>
>>35144069
It fed and cylcled fine, it just was not accurate in any measurable amount whereas brass was more accurate.

>>35144118
Brass cases for the same brand was like twenty more bucks for the same amount. I'm just gonna stick with the Win brass next time.

the 9e is a really fucking good gun
I've never had it shit out on me, literally 0 failures even when using bulk ammo and firing for a long time
>>
>>35140300

This, damn OP, I don't what your problem is. I ring a 10 inch plate at 50 yards with a G34 pretty consistently, 30 yards with G19. I use even cheaper independence aluminum as well as Tula with no issues

Well it's .40 and it's like 27 at the local Walmart.

>>35144427
Is it possible I just got a bad box of federal? I've heard rumors of bad QC but I fell for Glock grandpas shilling.
>>
>>35140417
>name 1(one) gun that can shoot aluminum ammo properly
I doubt my wheelgat would have any problems with it
>>
>>35144452

Maybe. It happens with every brand occasionally. With rifles I've seen some guns of the same model shoot one brand great and the other like shit. Never with a handgun but I don't know many people with handguns where I am let alone good enough to notice.

All the 9mm here shoot is Tula and independence (7.99 On PSA right now)

You guys are retarded.
>>35140197
Is right.Hardness and strength are completely different things. Ceramic is way harder than steel, brass, or aluminum, but you don't see casings made from fuckin floor tile do you?
>>
Ammo can be weird sometimes. I was shooting some weird nickel plated "target" ammo from my dad's CZ75, which eats most ammo just fine. That stuff kept failing to extract fully and the accuracy sucked compared to cheap brass bulk.

yall are a bunch of fucking idiots to fall for OP's faggotry, dwelling on aluminum CASINGS causing problems when obviously ACCURACY would not be affected
>>

But I wasn't trolling, it was an honest to God issue. DESU the loads felt ridiculously hot compared to other .40 loads I've had. Maybe they gave me some bad ammo.
