For most users 7.62 is better, but 300blk is nearly just as good up to a short range (200m?) and is much better out of shorter barrels. It's probably better suppressed, but I haven't looked into suppressed 7.62.

300blk is really only good to 200 yards I think. Its good for suppression and close range. Its also still pretty expensive and not all that widely used compared to most 7.62s. 300blk is a good cartridge for its niche but not good enough to justify it over 7.62

I own a 300 blackout and yeah it shines when running a pistol length barrel suppressed when shooting subsonic rounds. I got it for HD for two legged varmints where the 5.56 would not work out too well.

Its fine for lightweight supers and picks up some velocity over 300blk because of that optimized design, but runs into coal issues with pills beyond the 125gr range.

It all depends on what is important ro you though. Higher velocities or bullet flexibility.

It doesn't have the same giant flash and concussion. It's not a comparison, but my buddy has a mini draco which, after looking up, is a 7.25" bbl, and I have a 8.5" .300blk SBR with no muzzle device. Mine is noticeably less recoiling and only tends to have a small flash, while the draco tends to get a fucking fireball. I couldn't find any ballistic charts for x39 in short barrels, but comparing similar grain bullets out of similar length longer barrels, they seem to have extremely similar velocity and trajectories as far as the charts went out (350 yards).
