Loadout Thread
you should probably state the purpose of the load out to avoid confusion.
This going innawoods or SHTF. It whats i got.

There's no ground rules.

More than likely "Baneposting" being the first

shit yeah

nope no real ground rules, if you want to get rated you should rate others.

>Heavy
>>35136981
I have them too, though my feelings for them are the opposite. I've done a few backpacking trips and innawoods excursions with them and both they and my feet have survived. I had a shittier black Rothco pair that had a sole that grinded off after about 2 months, though the problem seemed to go away once I switched to actual milsurp
>>35136996
>Heavy
full gear's just a tad above 1/3 of my body weight AFAIK, and it's less than that if the backbag's ditched.
>>35137015
Maybe I just got a bad pair. The leather on mine was stiff even after months of daily use and would grind/dig into my ankles and feet.
>>35136893

be realistic, you not going to carry two long guns. >Lose one.
Honestly there is better load bearing gear that have better corresponding packs.
>Two vest

I might.
Wouldn't be the 1st time.
>Two vest
that's how the Ar-meh rolls, but yeah - I could just slap them pockets on the armor.
>bayonet
it's fine and sharp enuff.
>hatched
it chops wood, so I'm happy.
>he doesn't understand the beauty of Spork
>folding shovel
takes less space, all-steel, can work as a makeshift hatchet or a melee weapon in a pinch.
my plan is go innawoods, build/find cabin or use tent, shoot deer, get comfy. this isn't very complete but it's about all the copy pasting i could stand doing.
>>35137054
hey good call on the axe.
>>35137131
yeah carrying two long guns isn't that big of a deal. i was planning on using a drag sled for some of my snow larp load, or going in stages hauling the gear out.

Simple, and straight to the point. Nice setting too. 9/10 Would definitely operate here in the Amazon.
>>35136878
Can't go wrong with this, can basically survive anywhere. What is this, late 80s early 90's USMC stuff?
>>35136893
Two big rifles would be a bitch to carry. But if you had one at camp or something you wanted to switch out too, then 9/10 slavaboo
>>35137028
A little larperish but people like you would bring color to a SHTF scenario, still effective weaponry nontheless 10/10
>>35137054
This one here, is 10/10, mind if I save it? If I ever go live in the Western part of the U.S, like Arizona or Nevada, this is my go to. Hell even my go to for places like Montana or Vermont.
>>35137120

>>35137135
7/10, you're gonna carry 4 guns?
>>35137365
Ah... fellow Commiefornia fag, I moved out of that shithole into a worse shithole in South America. My pops owns land he uses for business near the Amazon so I might spend the majority of my life there.
Currently in Cali though, enjoying the beaches at Malibu at the moment. If shit pops off while we're here, we'll operate against all the beaner/nigger scum together.

>>35137568
I believe it's implied in the picture of the top, that he will also wear pants the same as his top.
>>35137667

actually i was going to go with snow camo shorts. that's why they're cut off.
>>35137684
Yeah the one in the pic is too big, just put it in there for cool looking purposes.
I actually have the cold steel one that breaks down into three pieces so it's easy to carry in a pack.
Man, I was able to shoot a dart longer than a football field with it. Of course you wont be able to aim that far and hit something with it, but within 20 yards you can take any small game you want.
Even saw a guy on Youtube take on a Ram with a blowdart gun in Australia or New Zealand.

8/10, great choice. Only con is ammo but that's unlikely to be an issue

7/10, good choice. just about any bargain bin HP .357 will typically expand which is nice. low capacity and reload speed not so much, which is imo exacerbated by your primary choices.
>melee
6/10, you'll definitely outclass anybody with a bat or pocketknife, but you would probably do better with a knife and a longer reach weapon(short spear, machete, sword, etc) for those times when a firearm is not called for. A slingshot would be a nice addition for such situations as well. nothing says fuck off to a guy with a baseball bat like a rusty nut hitting his face going 100+mph.
>accessories
gonna go with a 6/10 again. you've got a lot of bases covered but your boots could use work(going off design and not brand, could be wrong) and most of your gear is outdated and relatively uncomfortable. Only serious issues i see are a lack of food storage and non fire related means of making water safe to drink. You may also want to consider the kind of ideas you might plant in other peoples minds if you have to go into any kind of social situation wearing all that old mil surp gear. Might kinda scream "im a wannabe army prepper, imagine the shit i have worth taking back at home" to more predatory types. Wearing something more casual may allow you to blend in easier. ounce of prevention and all that.
>location
The only thing you posted that is borderline genuinely bad. The only thing this building offers is the appearance of being unoccupied. lighting a fire for cooking/sanitation or just casual observation at a distance will remove that very quickly. The overgrown vegetation severely limits your visibility of the outdoors and provides concealment for literally everybody who approaches. This could prove fatal.
It would be very easy for somebody to creep up from a bad angle and toss a molotov at your all wood building and pose very little apparent risk to them.

Gerber A475. Made back in the 70s when Gerber was a great company.
>>35139451
i like how simple it is. reminds me of the ontario blackbird sk5. gerber still makes some usa made blades. the china stuff is garbage though.
>>35139502
Yeah, I've used some of the modern USA made Gerbers. They're pretty good. This one though. They just made shit differently back then. Everybody did, it's not just Gerber, but they probably get the most shit for it. You just touch this knife and you know it's built to last. But not in that clunky, overbuilt way a lot of modern knives do. And like you said, it's simple. I bought it secondhand, and it took forever just to figure out what the hell the knife is, because the only marking is on the front of the handle, where I never thought to look.
I really like that one you mentioned though. Extremely similar looking. Gonna have to buy one.
>>35139605

I'm essentially cutting through everything that doesn't require an axe, just general forest clearing.
By briar, do you mean thorny vines? Or something else? There are a lot of thorny vines in the area.

Got the same hammock, sturdy, comfy and spacey, plus integrated insect protection. However, if just starting out, you need to consider if you really want to spend +400$ on a Clark Jungle Hammock or not. I can't imagine having much loss in function by going with a much cheaper model, however I don't regret the purchase either. You sleep better in one of these than at home.
As for clothing, go with something that works in the climate, keeps you acclimatized and dry. If there are many people around, you should always go with regular civilian clothing and not play dress up. If you want to stay hidden for whatever reason, go with a ghillie suit and move slow as fuck. That also enables you to drop the suit and be a regular person again in case you're found. Running around in military fatigues is not the best idea when two countries are at war and you're in between, you know, since you factually don't belong to either and both will be suspicious of you.

>hoodie in a jungle
>not sure if you've ever been in a jungle
Either between morning dew on the outside, sweat on the inside you want your cotton hoodie to gain 8lbs water weight, or you know it'll get ripped to shreds in foliage after a week so you won't have to worry about that anyway.

Not him, but another desert dwelling anon...
Trees are all over the place out here, there is just a bit of a distance between areas of growth, and areas of sand. Just because he included a photo of the southwest desert, doesn't mean it's the sahara, or the gobi.
I, and plenty of others ritualistically go camping in the Jamez with nothing more than what he pictured.
Also: tarp not pictured, but I guess those can't be used as shelter, can they.
