how come no military that matters uses it?
Why pay more for something that a flock can do just as good if not better for cheaper?
Because more expensive per unit than other options. Also proprietary instead of pickletickle rail.

Cost perhaps? Maybe a preference for either metal framed pistols or striker-fired. It's a perfectly fine gun if that's what you're implying.
Delta and seals used it a bit in the 90s but that's it isn't it.

It was adopted by its home country.

Pretty much this. H&K gets kinda reamed by import/export laws right now (plus I don't think they have a factory up and running the US manufacturing these?). it's a great pistol, but Armorer support/parts/cost of procurement puts that off for a lot of agencies not flush with federal dollars.

>bundeswehr not mattering
okay
>>35133081
irrelevant shitty husk of its former self that will cease to exist in any effective capacity sometime within the next 20-50 years once germany collapses on itself (again)

They can't effectively defend their country from external or internal threats, therefore they don't matter.
The M9 trials were already over in the US, Russia is Russia and the Brits Are still phasing out HPs for Glocks And sidearms, no matter how good, just aren't that important

>sidearms, no matter how good, just aren't that important
I wish some military would take this to heart and go back to issuing revolvers.
I bet modern servicemen would really appreciate the light weight of a J-frame.

They're not rich

Militaries don't pick the best equipment for standard issue. They pick whatever is most cost effective. Another matter is who can grease the right palms. How do you think Sig got the Army contract?
>>35134453
If your going to carry something with the power of a .380 and more difficult to shoot than a full-size pistol, what's the point?
>>35134568
>How do you think Sig got the Army contract?
By asking for $100 000 000 less than the competition?
>>35132908
German military does.
Why spend a shitton of money for something that is rarely used in conflicts
Some special ops guys have bought them, but there isn't anything the USP does that a M10 or a M9 doesn't do already.

That's the mk23
