So here's the lowdown on the anti-tracks. In dry enough conditions they don't leave much of a print at all, or will leave one that gets blown away quite quickly.

With more moisture in the air/ground they leave a print, but it looks indistinguishable from an older washed out print because of the lack of tread.

That's the theory of it.

The boots are leather and will never be truly waterproof. You can make them water resistant with wax or a proper application of silicone protectant. Honestly if splashing around heavily is what you have in mind, these are not the boots for that.

By design they're a lighter weight boot designed to flex and mold around the wearer's foot, and provide a reasonable degree of comfort in hot climates. To do this the leather is thinner rather than thicker and does not have any insulating properties. I can say that they're not going to be damaged by heat, they're built in South Africa after all.
