I know absolutely nothing about reloading. I'm not looking to save money, I just want to reload (and in time I'll probably save some.)
I'd like to set myself up where all that is required of me is buying all the components in bulk and cranking the lever. I think this is called a progressive press? Every source says not to use one of these if you're new, why is this the case even though it's simpler?
Would it benefit me in the long run to use a multi stage? Can someone give me a quick rundown on what that entails?
>keep in mind that I learned that grain amount meant bullet weight like last week
Thanks and excuse the autism/newfaggotry
Single stage is reccomended for beggeiners simply because its simpler- and cheaper. Theres
One turret and it forces you to focus on one step at a time. That being said, if you take the time and effort, theres no real reason you cant start with a progressive.

Reloading isn't something you should get into for saving money, it's not worth it. It's a labor of love that allows you to understand and appreciate your firearm and the way you shoot it on a whole other level.
progressive takes a good bit while to set up and change if you are new.
Start with a single stage, like an RCBS rockchucker, then if you want to load high volume, get a progressive. Save the single stage for load development, precision loads, decap only, or other shenanigans.
Turret presses are ok I guess, but with quick release bushings being a thing now, they're sort of pointless IMO.

You're rehashing what everyone else is saying, please explain to me why a single stage is "simpler" but you have multiple steps versus the progressive just being you cranking a lever but it requires more effort and time?

Exactly why I want to do it, I don't even shoot that much

Okay, that first part makes sense to me, but you kinda lost me after that. I'll go with single stage. Can you put it in slightly simpler terms?
>>35126815
Reloading can and will save you money, it just can take a while to get to that point. However if you're shooting any caliber that's uncommon/expensive you will save a shitload in a short amount of time.

Everyone says it because its true you fucking mong. Theres less things to fuck up with a single stage. And in reloading, alot can go wrong if you are retarded.

I just found this these references you should try them out.

Everyone in this thread has been trying to explain it to your dumb ass
I was about to explain the single vs progressive thing it you but then I read your replay chain so now you can kindly get fucked.
t.started with progressive and regretted it and so bought a single instead

What do you plan on handloading?
Newbie here. I've been looking at the Co-ax for my first press. Even using the price/value argument, talk me out of it.
First goal/project would be developing a more accurate round for my SCAR17. If possible, keeping the costs around 50-60 cpr.

>I was about to but your attitude wasn't high enough of a standard for me on an anonymous imageboard
>get fucked xd
I'm 12 minutes into a fifty minute video explaining everything anyways, but thank you for not contributing

>definitely: .308
>probably: .30-06, 7.62x39, .223, 9mm
>maybe: 6.5x55
>maybe if I buy that rifle I want: .303
>can only dream: .577/450

lol

When you post shit, you get shit. But then you think "well it's probably everyone else's fault" so you never change and continue posting shit and continue getting shit for it.
Rifle brass requires more prep, unless you buy a uber expensive Dillon with trim and swaging dies, you are going to have to do multiple steps...

Saving money is a shit reason to reload or shoot in the first place since you go 100% back on every bullet fired.
Of course it is good to get 1.1 bullets for the price of 1 bullet by reloading, unless you make more money for some other pastime.
