What is the best combat optic and why is it the Trijicon ACOG®?
>>35126479
Do iron sights count as an optic?
Carry handle or bust.

>fudds
irons are gay, and you're only putting yourself at a disadvantage by using them in the age of modern optics.

Eotech is the best
even the Russian use it
>be me 03 Fallujah
>we had one man per platoon with an ACOG (RMO)
>the rest of us had M16A2s
>shit sucked
>redeploy to Bagdad in 05
>about every third man had an ACOG on his M4 or M16, 240s and M249s had MGOs or elcan
>US government actually sent in a forensic investigative committee because we were taking so many headshots they were convinced we were executing people
>they determined most of the shots were taken between 200-600 yards
>reenlist in 2009
>deploy to Afghanistan in 2010
>every single infantryman has a magnified optic
>readily engage enemy with at very least accurate harassing fire out to 1000 yards when engaged with crew served weapons
>even POG ass cherries landing easy snapshots up the side of a mountain
>>35126479
That's a funny way of saying Elcan Spectre DR.

It happened in Fallujah or some shit apparently. Anon was most definitely not there tho.
Both Mike Jones and Lukas Botkin suggest Eotech is best for CQB.

shut the fuck up you little faggot, you never served, suck my dick. we don't "keep track of headshots" or whatever the fuck.
>>35126996
fucking source? because the entire time i was in iraq, there would have been no way to track anything as detailed as headshots. we would get into firefights, and sometimes we'd find a few of the guys we killed. most of the time their buddies would drag their lifeless bodies away. the only way to confirm anything is dead bodies. i sure as shit never wrote any reports on any of the firefights i got into, except one where a civilian got killed in the crossfire. CO probably was writing reports to send up to higher, but nothing detailed like "headshots to this many dead goatfuckers". there is no fucking "forensic investigative team" that keeps track of any made up bullshit like that.
>>35127059
>fucking source???
Idk man I just read it on Wikipedia once.
>>35126909
i agree never had problems with it

Optic faggot fucker
>>35126867
I have never in my combat experience kept track of, or heard of anyone keeping track of headshots. You'd rarely even find the dudes after a firefight. Either the locals would drag them away or their buddies would drag them away. I never wrote any reports on that shit either.

>dumb ass marine leaders begging congress for optics after 9/11
Every time.
In 03', the marine corp looked like the army did when they were invading Iraq the first time in 91'.

>we don't "keep track of headshots" or whatever the fuck.
No, but what happens is that the local Iraqis that recover the bodies see the headshots and think we're executing them at close range rather than drilling them from distance because none of those fuckers can shoot. Then they cry to somebody in the Iraqi government, who then cries to somebody in the coalition forces, who then sees it as an opportunity to show the Iraqis how "just" we are by trying to find some poor Joe or NCO they can throw under the bus for "executing" prisoners.
I shit you not. This is EXACTLY how this shit goes down.
