Well, at least it's not a L85.
>>
Looks alright. What one would expect from a service rifle that was made to equip millions of troops.
And as Jesus said, they have updated the ergonomics in the later iterations.

Hope they do a mud test next.
>>
That said, the recoil buffer system looks quite interesting.
>>
>>35123834
Its cheap, retains cool bullpup aesthetics, and has an interesting operation method. I've always been jealous of you leafs being able to dick with them instead of us burgers. I've always thought the QBZ rifles looked really exotic.

Hopefully, our sanctions on Norinco can be lifted someday and you guys will get 30 round mags.
>>
Its nice to hold and carry, feels well made, especially compared to other Norinco firearms, but the trigger travels for miles before firing.
I feel like the mass of the striker block moving around affects accuracy, but its probably just that I'm a shit shot.

Its also a very 90s gun, no accessory rails or anything, and since I don't live in Canada theres no aftermarket here, had to hack up a dovetail to weaver adapter to fit the strange proprietary scope rail.
>>
>>35124109
They tried to sell some serious dakka to gangs in the US, Norinco ban will probably never be lifted.

i still want a QBZ though, at least to rent at a range
>>
>>35123834
Be neat if they got their hands on a QBU-88, there's little video on it apart from all the video game rubbish.
>>
So why don't they update the 97s to the 95-1 features?

>>
>>35125533
No, you're wrong. The QBZ has nothing to do with kalashnikovs at all. It's a short stroke gas piston system and is a completely indigenous design. Combloc firearms are based off the regional animals of each nation's countries. Lots of those "cats" you see are actually foxes or some wild feline (74 is more of a fox, RPK is a Siberian Tiger, 47 appears to be some kind of lynx due to her ears). The Norinco Bullpup AK and Saiga shotgun, are a domestic cats though.

I had a carry handle T97 with the proprietary YMA optic for a while. From my experiences with it, it was really only good for the novelty. The QR mount was crap, so the mount kept falling off. The reticle was neat, but way too small and easy to lose in any background clutter. It also felt quite flimsy. If I got another T97, I would replace it with an ACOG.

As for the gun, was a good little bullpup. Decent trigger for a bullpup, way too short LOP for a tall guy, but a fun little plinker.

Ah, so you're a crusty old Republicunt. Fuck your party, they're a pack of liars and hypocrites who have done nothing but grow the government and kowtow to the neoprogressive agenda. They're also why the NRA sucks donkey dick and doesn't do shit but play defense.

He doesn't give a shit about the Republicans. They don't have a choice. He's more interested in playing the Democraps like a fiddle, which he's done pretty successfully so far. Granted that's as much on the sheer incompetence of the Dems as on him, but he's at least exploiting the situation correctly. He's systematically destroying the credibility of the democrats and putting them in an unwinnable situation where they either do what he's now saying he wants, and thereby admit that they've been lying through their teeth this whole time, or they betray their own platform just to spite him, in which case they have to deal with the Bernie Bros splitting the Dem ticket even further and giving the Republicans a huge advantage in the midterms and in 2020.

Now, I'm not saying I agree with everything he's doing. I don't think the debt deal is worth it, and I was never that much of a fan in the first place. I voted for Aleppo Man, and have no love lost for either major party. But he's not the complete moron you're making him out to be, and you underestimate him at your peril. This. The fact that we can't make a decent AK, even in the $900 range (see the DDI 100% US made stuff with the shitty extractors breaking in under 500 rounds) is really disappointing.

>the Canucks have a very interesting aftermarket for this thing
Tempted. Very tempted.
>>
>>35134153
Canada is now domestically manufacturing VZ58's and there are some AR-180's (with aluminum receivers, pic related) being worked on.
>>
>>35134153

Explain further. Can I purchase evil Chinese guns and ship them to my local FFL if I list the manufacturer as the Canadian importer? Is that even legal?
>>
>>35124574
Loooooool, no. India kick chinaw butt. Fuck china praise modi.
>>
>>35134455
I'm not sure of the absolute specifics regarding exactly where to ship an imported firearm, though I know anons have gone through the process before (Eg. Unica anon) but yes, you can import single examples of firearms like that with the proper ATF paperwork and proper coordination with the distributor. What you're going to want to do is fill out the form (essentially, a Form 4 without the stamp) and then call the distributor and say "I am a US citizen and I would like to import a Type 97 rifle to the United States, and I have the proper paperwork and clearance from the BATFE to do so and can provide you with a copy on your request." Once the paperwork comes back from the ATF with the okay (remember, list the importer as the manufacturer, nobody is going to inspect the rifle), go ahead and convert your $690USD into Canadian funnymoney and purchase the rifle. You will then go through the process of shipping it to your FFL, the specifics of which I am not familiar with. Enjoy your cheap bullpup, anon!

Purchasing a firearm in Canada requires a Possession and Acquisition License. That means taking a trip to Canada to take a weekend firearm safety course (or two on consecutive days if you want a Restricted Possession and Acquisition License which allows for handguns), all of which will cost you about 300 maple pesos all said and done. You'll need to get a statement from your local police department that you aren't a crime-anal when sending in your application, too.

>remember, list the importer as the manufacturer, nobody is going to inspect the rifle
Ah, but see, now you're lying on a BATF form..
>>
>>35134386
i'll trade you a CA banned gun for an aluminum AR180.
>>
>>35134689
They aren't manufacturing full AR-180's just yet. Just replacement parts.
Also, I'm not going to break the law just for an AK or a G3.
>>
>>35134679
To be honest even if you put Norinco on it I don't think they're going to deny you.

That said, there are examples in the US already. This means one of two things. a) They walked across the border illegally or b) an import form was filled out and approved.
>>35134678
I wonder if this applies to purchases made outside of Canada itself. It's probably a good idea for someone to go ahead and call the RCMP and ask. That said, Unica anon didn't have to go through Italian resident processes to acquire his Meatba so I assume you may not have to get the requisite resident licenses. Again, check with the RCMP.

>>
>>35133789
The problem with the AK is that it's a stamped gun. Stamped guns cost a shitload to tool up for, because you have to make new dies for every change or adjustment to the design. Once you have the tooling, they're cheap, but you need to then either produce a massive shitload or cheap out on the other parts in order to offset the cost of tooling up.

>>
>>35134965
Not just that, but every other step as well is an outdated manufacturing process requiring heavy tools and at least semiskilled labor and is super easy to fuck up. On the AR literally every part is secured either by threads or a push pin.
>>
>>35134987
It annoys me how much people here utterly fail to take context into account. They just swallow simplistic, reductive fuddlore and regurgitate it mindlessly.
>hurr durr AK is cheap
>hurr durr AR is expensive
Manufacturing almost always is more important than specific design in terms of the end cost of a firearm to the consumer.
>>
>>35134960
Sounds like 700-800 rpm. Quite a bit more than the basic QBZ-95

Shut the fuck up before you get my Model 8 banned.

In all seriousness though, the official line is AK or AK variants. But, like others have said, the RCMP has the power to interpret the firearms act in any way they like without oversight. Thus why stuff that just looks like an AK can and has been banned. Pic related.

Seems to correlate to what >>35134566 said, except if you don't go through a distributor, you would have to physically purchase the firearm in Canada, then bring it across the US border, and present that second form to the border patrol officer, and hope he's having a good day.

Seems a lot easier to try to go through an FFL and their distributor, but I'm guessing most would laugh you out of the shop if you asked for help importing anything Norinco without that first form pre-approved by the ATF.

A guy here I know got one, and its fucking junk.

Something is wrong with the trigger or sear because one pull will fire off 2-3 rounds, quite obviously supposed to be single shot and always jams since it doesn't extract the 2nd/3rd rounds. To actually fire semi you need to pull and hold the trigger. One guy manage to fire all 5 rounds in a single pull.

The manufacturing is shitty too. I was watch the action slide forward, and the way it feeds is that it will push the bullet into the metal wall surrounding the chamber, and the force of the action will push the bullet head up and to the left so that the head scratches the metal until it seats. Alot of misfires happened simply because the bullet would get jammed in the casing and not fire.

hunk of shit tbqh
