Hi /k/ what ak should I get?
yea, hiding your post
>>35119946
?????
Assuming you're serious, you'll need to be a lot more specific, as to what calibre, your budget, things like that.
>>35119937
Honestly, assuming you want 7.62x39, cop a Legion VEPR AKM before it's too late
>>35120035
>caliber
Im not sure ;_;
>budget
800 usd
>>35120053
>>35120053
>before it's too late
Why?? ;_; I really need to save.
>>35120103
Jesus, have you done no research?
>>35120103
Do you want the traditional AK, one for redguards, or a modern (ish) one?
>>35120103
Oh, well at 800 USD, probably just get a WASR-10. Jim Fuller had a good video about what to look for mechanically when buying an AK. 5.45x39 is always an option too and the ammo is almost as cheap, so if you can find an already built kit build of an AK-74 style rifle on say, gunbroker or locally
>>35119937
an AR 15
7.62 or 5.45? No memes, for real why do you like one over the other?
>>35120149
5.45 for dat underfolder
7.62 for anything else.
>>35120120
Yes, I was going to get a century
>>35120122
The traditional sounds fine
>>35120130
I'm going to stick with a vepr, thanks~
>>35120170
>century
Then you've done no research.
>>35120170
Be careful with Century rifles, they can be hit or miss in QA.
pic related
>>35120170
Be very weary, Century has turned out some of the better but most of the worst.
I'd go with something with a bigger price tag like RD, Jim's a good guy and is pretty much the guy for this kind of thing.

>Monkeys with a blow torch
So their quality is better
>>35120196
Overpriced. Last I heard they were using parts kits not nodak spud receivers anymore.
Thanks, I found this guide https://pastebin.com/YdEkhdva
>>35120217
Alcoholic monkeys with a blow torch. You didn't think they would actually stop drinking because they were at work with a blow torch did you?
>>35119937

>>35119937

But blowtorch sounds funnier
>>35120413
I thought sentry improve their guns
First one I saw was probably a wasr10, had all the red flags
https://youtu.be/nHyixxEat6c
(This is why I absolutely love the AK-47, even with a shit build, it'll keep going)
I later saw one years later at Academy seemed decently built
>>35120663
The point of a AK-47 is to be a cheap gun that's easy to make, easy to train and needs little maintenance to work
Custom built AK is like a free hug buissness, that don't work
>>35119937
Any you can afford, that's the point of a AK
>>35120103
With that budget, you should probably just go with the WASR and spend the rest on mags, ammo, and accessories if you want to trick it out. The AK market sucks to get into right now thanks to the Saiga and Vepr bans.
Also, even though WASRs are sold by Century, they are made by Cugir in Romania. Century only "desporterizes" them by opening up the magwell and adding a few small US-made parts like the Tapco trigger and pistol grip. Stay away of the C39 and RAS47 which are actually made in the US by Century for the consumer market.

The list goes on
7.62x39 is slandered, basically the world war 2 7.62x54r cartridge was cut
This is my personal favorite, good for hunting, home defense and is just fun to shoot all day

AK-74(one I hate)
There's the 5.45x39, the AK is was so often called inaccurate when compared to the American 5.56x45/.223(yeah I know they're slightly different, no one cares)
And is a said to be more accurate, but AK's arent made for accuracy
They also come in 22lr, .308, etc etc
