theres no reason to buy mosins anymore. they're too expensive for how shit of a gun they are and the ammo is about the same price as .308

virtually all of the companies who made a scout rifle strayed from jeff coopers vision in some sort of way. You can totally get an AR-10 in 308 for around 7lbs but meet every other requirement for it.
Personally, I like bolt actions for a scout rifle
