Hi there /k/ thinking about purchasing a USP this weekend but I had a few questions.

What's the best variant and is the tacticool worth the hefty price bump?

Also why do most folks seem to prefer the USP to the HK45? Wasn't that designed as a newer replacement for the older USP?

General H&K talk is welcome too.
>>
>same size same thickness USP45 = 12 rounds, HK45 = 10 rounds CA compliant
>USP45 is known to be more reliable
>can upgrade the trigger on the USP45
>only neg is no rails but that can be fixed with a $40 adaptor
That's all I can recall off the top of my head.
>>
I'm really torn between the USP .40 and the .45. I have faggy girl hands and I'm thinking the 45 might be too much for me.

USP45 Tactical is generally seen as the best variant. They're all pretty good variants if you don't want to go for a Tactical.

The threaded barrel alone is $289 on HKparts, for what that's worth. Only reason I didn't spring for the tactical is the standard target sights. I'd swap those for the meprolight set immediately, and that's just more cost on top of an already expensive handgun.

If you have a suppressor or are waiting on your stamp, just get the tactical. Otherwise get the standard and feel free to spend the difference on magazines.
>>

Not OP, but my plan is get a plain fullsize USP in .45, then send it off to HK to get the full match trigger installed by them.

The LGS tried to sell me on an HK45 as well as a fullsize USP .45, but the finger grooves, 10 round mag capacity, lack of match trigger, and higher price put me off from it.
>>
>>35113980
Gunbroker the USP, you can do the trigger job yourself, it's piss easy plus Youtube. Get a threaded barrel with appropriate recoil spring, and some night sights. Boom, you have just successfully avoided having "Tactical" stamped on your slide.
>>
>>35113560

Why bother getting a USP when the P30 (which is essentially USP2) is available?

Just for outdated vidya nostalgia?
>>
why not a mark 23 OP
>>
Get the match trigger kit direct from HK Webstore, they have sales all the time. I remember getting it for like $75 a few years ago.
>>

Torn between snagging a USP online or at the LGS. I have an old good quality Beretta shotgun I haven't shot in 7+ years to trade in at the LGS to eat most of the cost offline, but I can also go online and save on state sales tax and the general cost.

Problem is that I'm in the way of Irma, so I'm playing it by ear and seeing how bad the damage from Irma will be before seriously purchasing a new gun.
>>
>>35113560
There is no reason to buy a non-Tactical USP.
>>
>>35114035
Not OP but I'm leaning towards a USP over a Mark 23 because I have this feeling that I won't like the Mark 23 enough to justify it costing way more, and because it seems comical for anything but raking in cool points.
>>
>>35114076
Not having "tactical" stamped on the slide is a big plus.

I don't really think you should compare CZ to Glock are HK. One makes competition guns that need to be babied and the other two are pretty tough in comparison.
>>
>>35114317

Same boat as you.

Got the USP Expert in .45 and its right up there in size with the Mark 23, just a bit smaller. So I'm planning on getting a two tone stainless compact in .40
>>
>>35114559
My thoughts were to get the 45 Tactical so I could see if I liked the platform.
If I liked the USP series enough to go full autism, I would get a Mk23 and a Compact in .40 to get my Solid Snake and CIA larping on.

Yes, I agree. Any gun that kBs from piss poor chamber support to help it feed reliably and afterthought caliber conversion is not in the same league as a CZ or HK.

Look for a used usp, I found my USP45c for $650. Barely used much since it was a display gun, not pretty since letterings rusted.

If you don't mind .40, a lot of .40 cal guns are being sold off by the truckloads at stupid prices since a lot of people follow military/federal agency procurement religiously and FBI dumping 40 for 9 has set the used market of .40 guns ablaze.

Also, USP's just look good. I know there are a few front serration tacticool faggots on here who can't think up an argument for front serrations other than
>muh press check and racking where rear serrations are out of order duuuuuuuurrrrrrrrr

But seriously, a lot of front serrations kill the lines and aesthetics of a gun and when you got cash and desire to spend for a USP, you're 70% spending for the iconic looks.

i have a v3 p2ksk, i was wondering if you guys could help me. there is a weird issue with the trigger. when i dry fire for example on da, after the hammer is fired, the hammer is kinda loose or has play. when i pull the hammer back and go into sa, then hit the de-cocker, the hammer is back to normal in da, no play. is there something wrong with my trigger?
>>

Does anyone have any experience with both striker fired pistols and HK LEM? I like the idea of having no safeties or decocker levers but was wondering how they compare to something like a glock trigger. I'm thinking of a p2000 lem or gen 3 glock 19 as carry options. The p2000's ambi controls and keeping a thumb on the hammer when holstering are the most attractive features of the gun.

It is nice for Appendix since you can hold down the hammer when holstering. That being said the LEM might as well be SAO without a safety since it is a very light pull. There is a V4 if you want a heavier DA pull, which is easier to explain to a jury.

Mostly just the e-begging and shilling for IWI and Turkshit or pretty much any company that offers him an expenses-paid overseas vacation. The prices from his gun store are really inflated as well. I don't see how he stays in business except from selling to dedicated fanboys. I have bought guns from him before, but never anything that wasn't exclusively through him. There's no reason to buy any off-the-shelf guns he carries.

>>
>>35116889
Because the USP has a well deserved reputation as bomb proof and its basically a barrel swap and a new follower for HK.

Plus the recoil system and the fact that the USP was supposed to be a 10mm from the start

What's the deal with the barrett slide? I could buy a usp9 in ausfalia but I'm hesitant. How do you like it for sport shooting?

Why the fuck would I keep a broken gun? I traded that piece of shit for a P09 and it was better in every way. Even for the 30 rounds the USP did work. HK wanted to charge 200 plus shipping to fix it.

Federal 230 grain ball. Nice spacing.

You couldn't troubleshoot something that simple? It's literally one of three things, two of which are easy fixes.
>>
Since we're talking other HK guns, is 1,200 a good deal for a SAR-3? A friend of mine is ditching it for a FAL build. Original box and a couple mags including a 30 round one. It's not an overstamp or the shitty aluminum receiver ones. I'm really leaning towards getting it since I've wanted a G3 clone for awhile and wanted to see what else was out there besides a PTR. Phone posting so I'll try and get pics soon
>>
>>35121551
I really don't care anymore. I found out that USP reliability was a meme. The gun has no ergonomics. The capacity is shit and the trigger is mushy. Taurus has better triggers. Got an omega trigger with 19 round factory mags and full size conceal capability. HK is a joke.
>>
>>35121608
You seem like a dipshit.

Yeah, you're a bit of a spergy tard aren't you.

a certain store by a certain Youtube has police trade-in USP45 and USP40 for $485 and $395.

Mine will be here next week. Can't wait to compare it side by side to the FNX-45

It's nice. The DA sucks balls. I might go full tactical.

>>35118978
>>35117957

>>35121446
Different anon but I don't see anything alarming there. My trade-in USP had wornout mag springs which caused lots of hiccups. If something breaks, HK typically honors their warranty no-questions-asked, unless it's clearly a user fuckup. They will happily work on used guns.

Who cares about the fucking grip when the overall thickness is the same. Not only that but whatever fucking material they used to make the HK45 is fucking garbage, at least the USP45 doesn't have pieces of polymer breaking off.

They are also overrated.

>>35121229
They are probably one of the best .40s, but I feel like the newer HKs besides the VP40 are actually better. USed doesn't mean much in the HK world, get it refurbished if it really bothers you.

Maybe a scrub would say something like that, but anyone who wants to control the gun while shooting it knows that it's important to get a firm, confident grip on the gun.
