Whats your current self defense knife?
>>
>>35112663
Look, anon.
Knives are excellent tools.
Wonderful items to fiddle with, create things, and in all honesty you should have one.

But if you think a knife will ever be better than a gun or safer than just using bare hands you're a fucking moron.
It's all the problems of both and none of the benefits.

>>
>>35112688
You actually think using your bare hands is better than having a knife? I didn't know I could drain someone in seconds with my hands, teach me senpai
>>
I recommend carrying a gun but I do also carry a Kershaw Emerson. It's the best knife to have for last resort use because it opens as you take it out of your pocket.
>>
>>35112663
>self defense knife
Whatever's in your pocket at the time, if it comes to that. Knives are for slitting throats, not defense.

Budget paring knives. 5 in a pack for one dollar.

Store them in a dnatight, airtight, fibertight bag, and you've got an untraceable murder weapon right there.

The same knife ive carried since i was 8.
>Schard old timer Model: 70-T

My dad had it for years before he gave it to me. I remember when i was as young as 4, my dad would take me to the country store/Bar. When a drunk would bother me, he would pull the knife from his pocket and hand it to me. He would then say something along the lines of "cut off his nuts". At which point i would open the knife and feint a jab, the drunk would flinch and everyone in the bar would laugh.

When i was about 8, my dad gave it to me because my mom divorced him and my her boyfriend was moving in. I ended up losing it for a few years. Which i suppose was a good thing.

Less likely to be used against you.
A fucking chair is better than a knife.
>>35113062
Again, fists or a chair or whatever you have laying around is better than a knife.
It'll become a bigger problem than it'll help.

nice shit
>>
>>35113126
I honestly feel like this is one guy shit posting at this point. Knives are some of the oldest weapons humanity has had. You're knife isn't gonna telephoto into your enemies hand and it doesn't suddenly make the fight lie or death because if you're pulling a knife it was like that in the first place.
>>
you should carry one with chocolate handles since if you ever need to use it in a self-defense situation you're going to end up eating it

Bare hands and guns are actually less likely (statistically speaking) to wind up with you hurt.

Citation needed.

Look at it this way. If a guy is coming at you with a knife, do you think you could disarm him easily? Hell no, disarms are extremely hard to pull off.

If you've pulled a knife on a guy, then he probably has a knife or a gun and doesn't need to take yours, because he's got his own weapon and is trying to kill you with it.

Self-defense rank:

Gun - Is clearly the best. I carry it whenever I can, obviously.

Espada XL - I will carry this when I can't have a gun or want to feel extra badass (so all the time). If it comes down to a knife fight, they will run or get decapitated... even after all my memes, this knife could not be taken lightly in a fight. Con: slow-draw multitool becomes primary utility knife when I have my Espada.

Kershaw Emerson and Ti-lite - nice and fast, not much intimidation factor, can be used as primary utility and defense, will be carried when I dress up past cargo pants and jeans or when I know I will need a utility knife.

Benchmade 940 and Kershaw Leek - only get carried if I have the gun and a spare mag, they aren't really fighting knives, but they are easily my two sharpest thanks to lansky delux kit and strops.

Others - the rainbow and blue stilettos are chinkshit that stays home. The crkt used to be a "back-up" belt knife until the holster broke, not really concerned with replacing it. The buck 119 goes outdoors (innawoods or fishing), but mainly stays on the nightstand. The victorinox sd usually just floats around my room because I didn't want it on my keys anymore. My Leatherman Surge goes everywhere with me, could be used to load punches/hammerfist but I probably wouldn't think to do that rather than go for a gun or knife.

Who knew they were more dangerous than a silly knife. Quick someone go back in time and tell people through history to use hands instead of knives!!!

hey bozo. Some kommandos are from European countries where they cant get firearms. Some are under age. And some carry a knife ALONG with a gun.

what about countries where carrying firearms is not legal?

For example, I'm going to Germany for 6 months, I want to carry a Benchmade Griptillian with me in case one of those new peaceful Germans decides to start preaching his peaceful ways with an axe or machete.

I apologize.
It's been a bit since I saw the stats.
I still say that carrying a knife is worse than nothing though.

The smallest knife that is a legitimate weapon is a Bowie knife around 7-10 inches in length. Ideal blades weapons for most people are short swords, around 18 inches in length or about. There's a reason Roman soldiers didn't march around with 3.5" folders. They are good for opening packages and eating steak though.

Nope. But, I always exercise situational awareness and usually have a gun. I either observe suspicious people or move far enough away so I will not be the first one attacked. I would hate to get in a knife fight and the espada might just be intimidating enough to make someone fuck off. If they won't, I'll just have to hope they don't know how to knife fight either, in which case the espada will give me a significant reach advantage. As far as hand-to-hand fighting, I only know a little bit of kiddie karate that I probably wouldn't even try. Anyways, that kind of fighting is really just spur of the moment and I know to deescalate before shit gets physical. If I really had to fight though, I could hold my own against someone with not much experience. I'd probably get tore up first. But when I am able to move in, most people wouldn't be able to grapple with someone my size (Tony Soprano physique) IF they had no training. I never claimed to be a fighter, but I don't think many people really are either. In general, I am too apparently aware to be much of a good target. I think that's what gives me an advantage and lessens my chances of getting into some shit.
>>
>>35117646
>your self defense knife shouldn't be used for self defense unless its a last resort

at that point you might as well just drop the 'self-defense' part on the knife.

if you practiced situational awareness too you'd know the safest place to be is in your basement. why risk going outside when you can just have amazon do all the traveling for you?

Kek. I'm just saying, from a bad guy's perspective you are not going to go for the guy who is watching you. Plenty of assholes with their heads down in their phones to be caught by surprise instead. Anyways, I will have probably moved away from them if they look suspect. Hopefully you are just trolling and actually understand the importance of situational awareness.
