>Larry Byrd bin Akbar banked on out of the room, off the wall and put it right in front of us

>Go to turn and push my buddies back down the hallway and run myself
>They're already 5 steps ahead of me
>Wake up to EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Buddy is about 7 feet in front of me lying on his stomach
>Other buddies are already in front of where I was throwing frags and laying blind fire into room the grenade came from
>Get dragged out because I can't speak, move or form coherent thoughts
>Find out weeks later I shot my buddy in the ass at some point after the grenade exploded, likely as I was being flung down the hallway
>Only serious injury I have is a severe concussion that takes me out of the fight for a couple weeks and some extra shrapnel scattered up my legs and arms
>Buddy ends up missing the rest of our deployment because apparently I got deep in that ass and hit some part of the hip/pelvis

Not that exciting, but the closest I came to killing a friend over 3 deployments.

Never had it happen to me, or anyone in my company. Worst we had was a guy that ""accidentally"" shot himself in the leg.

After I was wounded though, met a guy in the WTU (broke-dick unit) from a sister battalion.

Guy caught five 5.56 from a SAW during clearing ops by a sister unit on a adjacent road in Baghdad.
