Let's talk about black powder and muzzle loaders
What are some good models, old and new? What are some good modern brands? Tips and tricks to using muzzleloaders while hunting? How many shots do you have to fire to create a smokescreen at the range and piss off the Gucci ARfags?

All I know is that my knight krb7 is a pretty good one.
No goofy methods of getting 209 primers ready to fire, and drop-out-in-seconds trigger/hammer group which gives extremely easy access to the breach plug and barrel for a quick boresnaking.

Never shot enough, but even one makes a fair bit of smoke.

And that's just a single shot, right? I know black powder is corrosive so the less stuff to clean the better.

>And that's just a single shot, right?
Yeah, I don't know of any that aren't. I think that's the whole point.
Although I have seen muzzleloaders with revolving barrels. IIRC, you pulled the hammer back again, then revolved the barrel by hand, then you had a 2nd relatively quick shot.
>can't believe it's been 7 years since I sighted it in for the first time with 4 shots, pic related

Does it hold zero pretty well, and is that a Mosin sling?

It's just irons, not much to go wrong with the zero. It hits where I aim at 100, and is an inch or two high at 50 yards. Apparently I'll be able to use a scope this year for hunting for the first time, but I don't really plan to do that. Most shots are 100 yards or less. Scopes have been reserved for using muzzleloaders during shotgun slug season, and for disabled people during muzzleloader season up till now.
>sling
It's just one of those cheap ak/sks slings with the leather tabs, they're just silent and great slings.
A few years ago, I made a loop with it around a deer's head and drug it a quarter mile or better with that sling. Never been so exhausted in my life. The icing on the cake was that the deep snow and brush wasn't enough, the last 100 yards was all uphill. I don't know if I could have done it if I hadn't gutted it on the spot and removed a lot of the weight.
Here's my CVA Wolf with Nikon Buckmasters II scope attached. Lots of fun to shoot, though nobody ever accused black powder of being a cheap hobby.

That's a nice looking rifle(?) anon
Is there a common caliber for modern black powder rifles?
