The main one being it's too fragile, and if you add shit to the mix to make it not fragile, you're introducing a ton of non-combustible material that will reduce efficiency and foul the gun to the point where you might as well be back to black powder. Then you have the problem of it being extremely vulnerable to the elements unless you add an autistic level of sealing to the pre-loaded, disposable magazines and the gun itself, which defeats the cost savings, etc. etc.

PCTA is cheap enough, and sidesteps those issues entirely.
