Mausers are pretty fun, just avoid Mitchell's and you're set.
ARs are fun, highly customizable and even the bottom of the barrel ones function enough for what you'll be doing with them.
1911s have a million and a half different types, what are you getting?

Just start with the M16-copy you have. Save your dough for good ear protection, ammo/mags, and a cheap weapon light.

If you were smart you'd start with a Ruger 22/45 for a pistol.

The mauser is fine, but don't expect it to be anything but a rifle from the 1930's. Please do not fuck it up by attaching period incorrect accessories to it.

You're not buying an M16. AR-15's are fine, but they're very customizable so you might as well make sure it's made out of the best parts you can when you buy it, or just buy the parts and put it together yourself.

A 1911 is fine, depending on who is making yours. However, I would highly recommend looking at and actually handling many different handguns before you decide on a handgun.
