Can someone explain what the appeal is of buying an SKS and putting it into a tactical stock? I can understand the appeal of a basic SKS if you can get it for $300 or less - it's a reliable semi-auto in a useful caliber for people who truly can't afford any more than that. But then these people are adding all these aftermarket attachments to their guns, which brings to total cost of the rig up into the realm of $450 AR's, and even exceeding that, despite the fact that a $450 AR already has all the ergonomics and functionality that a fully tacticalized SKS would ultimately have. Why do people do this?
Possibly related: I never really played video games until recently when I got into PUBG, but I noticed that the SKS appears in vidya a lot, and gamers seem to prefer an SKS in a tactical stock over a lot of other in-game weapons, like an AK, for example, which would logically be the better weapon in real life. It's weird to me. Are people buying and tacticalizing SKSes just to imitate vidya?

Its the something as when people buy shitty Impalas and put expensive rims on them. There is no reasoning to it, people are just bad at money management and making smart decisions.

It's a budget PC ($450 for the thing itself, i5 6400, 1 TB hard drive, Windows 7), alongside a GTX 1050 TI and a SSD with PUGB installed on it. Problem is, my PC is only has 8 GB of RAM. Any suggestions for upgrading for 16gb or higher? I'll give it 150-200 budget.

1. Cheap SKSes are fun and you don't feel as guilty for modifying them.
2. People make modded SKSes way before it was on PUBG. I doubt it would make it anymore popular given how most of the people who play PUBG are normies.
3. SKS is meh in the game, I prefer the AK as the attachments are more common or just get a M416 or SCAR.

I did, still getting nasty stuttering. The higher the settings the worse the stuttering.
Also any tips for getting number 1? I usually last until the top ten, and sometimes reach two, but I usually get rekt by the radiation wall. If I run I get blasted.

I think a lot of them are just upgrading their cheaper gun that they bought for under $300.
