What boots do you operate in, /k/?
>>35097829
in ones army gave me
Whites
>>35097889
Looks a bit like Crispi.
>>35097829
>>35097829
these or Danner Rivots.
considering Garmonts, but they don't have the civilian hiking boot aesthetic of the Lowas or the stitchdown boot aesthetic of the Danners
>>35097829
>>35097894
How do you like those? Considering a pair of Nicks.
Salomon or asolo for outdoorsy shit and 5.11 for urban shit
Salomons or bust nigga. But beware. Waterproof shoes don't dry very fast if you get water inside from river crossing or just being a sweaty greasy mofo. So if you're doing the Pacific crest trail just use some simple trail running shoes.
>>35098245
>>35098255
Salomons or LOWA?
>>35098281
I have zero experience with LOWA but I've never run into a problem with Salomons. Head over to a local store and just try some on and find a good deal online because fuck paying full price for anything
>>35097829
Those look like Jordan 7s from a glance.
>>35098281
The lowa is my gf boot. Iwould go with salomon
>>35097829
Garmonts are pretty comfy.
These aren't my hiking/operating boots. those are in the back of the car.
However I have a question. Does anyone know where i can get boots like these? These are my old boots and the soles are absolutely fucked.
>>35098411
fuck sake. Was the correct orientation when I checked.
>>35098411
go to a cobbler, see if they can be resoled.
worst thing that happens is they say no.
if you want gucci "1930's workwear" boots, get Alden Indy boots, Red Wing Iron Rangers, or Wolverine 1000 Mile boots
>>35098411
just get them resoled
>>35098407
how long do the soles last on the T8 Bifidas?
>>35097829
Merrel Moabs.
the ones with the gortex.
>>35098464
>>35098473
Already done that. They said no, they said it would be pointless because they're so fucked, would cost more than the value of them.
thanks for advice though.
>>35098509
For how long? I've heardy plenty of times they don't last.
>>35098149
Looks like anon is blessed with feet without syndactylous toes.
>>35098531
>my current ones are about 5 years old and beat to shit.
but you are right. if you use them heavly you should still get a year out of them.
I wear the lowcuts everyday and the mids when im outside hiking or oer8ting
>>35098588
Thank you for the info.
Belleville 790 Comfy and last forever.
>>35098855
How long are they serving you, anon?
>operating in boots
>>35098895
A couple of years with one resole. I like these much better than my Danners because of the thick polyurethane mid sole and considerably less weight.
I also rock a pair of Moab mid's when I don't feel like I need a taller boot.
>>35098387
CYKA BLYAT
DASVIDANIA TOVARISH
>>35097829
A couple of years of hard hiking, as well as daily abuse and these things are just now starting to wear. Super light, water proofing where you need it, and breathes where you need it.
With a pack, oboz bridgers
Without a pack, salomon speed assaults
>>35097829
5.11 ATAC 8"
Not saying they're the best, but they're far from the worst.
Have both Tan and Black, both function quite well.
Need to branch out and get something better though and am open to suggestions.
>>35098925
>What is ankle support
Crack, crunch, snapple, pop.
I have a bad back so im forced to wear these.
currently issued these
thinking of getting a salomon quest 4d, heard many good things about it and ive tried it on in the store
>>35099492
woops
What would be the budget version of Solomon?
>>35099492
4ds are godtier
>>35099566
shopping bags and bungie cords
>>35099380
>tens of thousands of years of evolution without big clunky boots
>buy these boots or your ankles will snap while walking
With winter coming up I want to buyy a nice sturdy pair of boots but I want the to be relatively light and that they don't make me look like an autist
Have fucking retardedly large feet
Can almost never find a shoe size to fit my feet.
Fucking shit guys, I might be doing a Police Physical Eval soon, the fuck am I supposed to do all I've got is some shitty slip on And 1s
>>35097829
Palladium. Light and versatile. Better for urban environment than big clunky hiking boots, yet still function in the woods.
Also have slight cyberpunk aesthetic
>>35099959
>wellington duckbills
JUST
>>35099435
lol wtf?
I can't find Olive Drab jungle boots in my size anyfuckingwhere. I'm a 9R in combat boot sizing, which should be common.
It looks like Altama and Welco have stopped making them. Anybody know where to get some good jungle boots?
>>35098531
I'm currently testing out some waterproof merrel moab mids. I hike 6+miles 2-4 days a week. I've been using the merrels since January. I replaced the insoles with Superfeet Trail. So far they are holding up amazing. There are some chunks of tread missing(where I hike is very rocky) but there's been no separation of the toe cap or any failures of stitching.
Might try out a pair of the new Merrel 8" tactical boot next.
>>35100724
Don't fucking do that to your feet. Boot technology has advanced since those were designed.
I've heard good things about the Nike boots. Maybe check them out before you fuck your feet for life with outdated designs?

>>35097829
Oboz sawtooth 2 gtx
and my SALOMON FORCES 'SUA SPONTE' WOLF GREY XA PRO 3D MID GTX
holy shit theyre so fucking comfy.
>>35097829
surplus belvvues I get from eBay for about 40 bucks in the summer, dinner arcadia in the winter.
and edi k, wherever you are you got some thin ass feet nigga these took forever to break in. thanks tho.
>>35099307
>oboz bridgers
god tier boots bro.
I think they're 60's wolverine brand surplus. I liked them so much I bought a second pair. I use them for my motorcycle as well so they are a little beat up but no major damage.
>>35097829
Adidas slip on sandals from Costco. They are comfy as fuck. I wear them pretty much every day all year long.
>>35098281
sc/out/ here, I have used a pair of Lowas when I went backpacking Ireland during winter and hiking up and down all of the California mountain ranges year round. I also use them on an every other day basis to work because they are pretty damn comfortable with the right pair of liners and wool socks.
>>35097829
Not even memeing. Wear these daily.
>>35097829
I got dese mane.
Solomon GTX because I was told it's what many actual operators use. All in all, not a bad boot. Actually it's more like a crosstraining sneaker and a boot had a baby. It's way lighter and more comfortable than the Belleveue boots I was issued a decade ago.
>>35101574
Merrel Moab. I want to upgrade to 10 or 12 inch boots though. Considering Nicks Boots or Whites.
Got out of the Leaf army this week, and supply let me keep my boots, so I've got two pair of pic related.
They're pretty comfy and fairly waterproof, so I'm fine with them.
Anyone know of a good company that goes up to size 18?
Gen 1 Nike SFB's becauae i'll be in tech school until next year and they're mad comfy
Depending on where I wend up going I may go back to my issued boots or possibly pick up some Lowas. I've heard the Rocky C4T's are great but they don't look like they have good enough tread.
Danner RAT boots all day every day
>>35101872
I worked at one of the kit shops in Gagetown, and our number one seller after darts and monster was the C4T's. We couldn't keep the things in stock, so they must be pretty solid. Roommate also has a pair, says they're mint.
>>35098149
i now have metatarsalgia just from looking at those

NC here - am I wrong in thinking that coyote/desert tan boots would be out of place in a temperate environment? I'm looking for something similar to an ATAC 8 as far as value but in brown or sage.
Xtra Tuffs because I am Xtra Tuff.
>>35101511
what are these?
>>35102334
Maybe out of place if you're gonna keep em clean. If you're actually gonna go innawoods they will get filthy with local dirt and blend.
>>35102459
Good point - maybe I should just bite the bullet on a coyote brown pair and christen it with the local flora. I just don't want to be walking around suburban areas looking like a moonman or some goofy ass fudd
>>35099959
>autism homo boots
lowa renegade is best girl
>>35100724
altama still makes them
http://www.altama.com/usa_en/product-jungle-px-olive-drab.html
autism boots though, you will look like an autist in them
The only pair you'll ever need.
>>35101535
Too hip
>>35102537
Objectively wrong
What do you think I oper8 in?
>>35100821
I havent had a problem with these yet, as long as im wearing thick enough socks these are just fine
Got a nice pair of Vasque hiking boots
danners.
>>35103808
>i actually googled those
I never played video games, man.
They look cool, though.
>>35104546
Is that Demars? Thick socks and/ or 2x shoe inserts seems to be the only way to wear these. Mine perticularly like hurting me in my ankle.
>>35098223
I picked up a pair of smokejumpers for trail work, hiking, and possible firefighting in the future. They sucked ass for the first few weeks but gradually suck less. I could practically live in them now, pretty comfy.
used to have a pair of doc martins, they wernt bad. dont have any pairs of boots anymore, should probably get some
>>35101872
AFSC?
>>35101144
Pretty sure I've used those when I was firefighting. Good boots.
And these are the ones I currently use, surplus Swiss combat boots from the 90's.
>>35101179
let me guess you wear them with socks and basket ball shorts too
>>35104731
Nothing that fancy, picked then up for 1500 pesos in the Philippines. These boots are still standard for their military
>>35097829
>When I'm innawoods
A pair of Rockports
>When I'm urban exploring
A pair of steel toed CATERPILLARs
>wearing shoes
>>35104666
Are they durable? For how long do you have them?
>>35097829
I actually have these boots. Get the lowa performance insoles, they make all the difference. They fit very well if you have narrow feet.
>>35105404
How long you have them? Actually durability is my only concern there with Zephyrs, plenty of people say they are golden, plenty that they got fucked up quickly.
>>35105029
Secret squirrel comms. 3D1 career field.
>>35097829
Ultra heavy rubber chemical warfare/hazmat boots.
>>35097829
I have two sets of boots. Both flight deck boots which have great ankle support. One pair I shine the other I blacken and /out/ and operate in.
I wear my oboz Bridger
>>35099959
They look like really tall converse
>>35101574
After suffering an Achilles tendon injury, looking at the angle his leg is coming out of that boot at makes me want to break something.
>>35101574
this and pic
the speedcross goretex has lasted water proof longer than any other boot I've had which is a surprise to me. suck for winter because they are breathable and low cut for snow to get in also the tread wears down stupid quick, they're pretty much slick at this point after a year
>>35101586
moabs are meme tier
source? own a pair and started falling apart within 8 months. also the goretex failed after the 8th rain.
>>35102537
>Availability: Out of Stock
I'm pretty certain they're discontinued
>>35106100
My MOABs have gone close to 1000 miles and are still fine. Although I have almost worn through the heal.
>>35101641
You don't gotta lie to us anon
>>35098149
>not grorious nippon jika-tabi
>>35106064
They are basically tactical converse for hot environments. They are really worth it if you can get it on sale on amazon(usually on sale for $25-30 usd). Just don't use them on wet slick surfaces the rubber makes you hydroplane.
>>35097829
Garmont t8 bifda
>>35101641
I shredded two pairs of these in less than a year. Pretty comfy though.
>>35097829
Salomon quest 4d or Lowa zephyrs for hot weather?
>>35099502
what are these? I like
Lowa renegades
>>35102443
These are those: https://www.shoes.com/wellco-temperate-weather-steel-toe/357822/803416?cm_mmc=ca_sb_Shopzilla-_-none-_-none-_-none
Wellco Sage Green Boots with Gortex lining...for those who join the branch of the military with an over-inflated budget.
Also. Gortex is life. Gortex is Love.
>>35104855
The only respectable choice.
British army issue altbergs
They're great right up until your platoon commander accidently navigates you into a waist high swamp and you have to walk around with wet feet all day because you didn't pack spare socks in your daysack
Those Austrian Paratrooper Boots that Kommandostore was selling
in Grade 1
>>35105461
about half a year, so I can't really tell you anything.
I heard the same thing and asked the local store owner. They said something breaks within the first two years I get a new pair. Until now I'm good. If they keep their word... we will see.
>>35098531
Not the guy you are replying to but I have a pair I am about to retire after 1.5 years and about 1.2k miles in them. Most of it terrain than pavement. I will go back to the non "waterproof" version because it didn't make that much of a difference and the waterproof version took a long time to break in.
>>35099604
People also didn't have padding on their feet to allow incorrect walking so were less likely to roll their ankle.
t. I do historical demos of HEMA in turnshoes and you definitely walk and run more carefully.
Gotta get them Salomons
All you guys wearing 790's know whats up
>>35108473
Currently wearing in a pair of Merrell Overlook 6 Ice & Waterproof I just bought in readiness for a trip to the Arctic circle.
>>35099959
