It's to number them for when they go into an armory and need to have records kept of when they were serviced.

They're MEUSOC custom 1911's. They start of as Springfield Mil-Spec 1911's and end up getting the military treatment.

The USMC designated their 1911's M45's when the military adopted the M9 Beretta and hung onto them for Recon, etc. Later (2012 IIRC) USMC ordered a couple thousand Colt Railguns (designated the M45A1) which was the first shipment of Colt 1911's to the US gov't since WWII.

Smith and Wesson model 19-5. One might think that it has alot of holster wear. But one would be wrong. All the wear is from condensation that collected from being kept in the shower.

honestly its insane that it isnt rusted to bits.

How about my WWII bring-back TT-33? Complete with war-emergency stamped wood grips. It is very, very crudely made and finished, even by TT-33 standards.

All matching, right down to the mag (no electropencil bullshit). It never got arsenal refinished, unlike 99% of TTs.

Brought back by a Canadian vet after WWII. I bought it from the guy's son

It clearly sat outdoors on one side for a while, and bears evidence of some serious use. This thing was there, and it saw some shit.

Also interesting is the crudely applied "7.63" marking on it. I was told it was there when his father "picked it up". Referencing 7.63 Mauser, possibly indicating German involvement with it? You be the judge.
