So I just found a new fetish. Post your old .32 pocket autos. Seems like my modest collection leans heavily Germanic.
>>35087590
And it will. The 7.65 (along with the 6.25) were mostly a European thing early on, and in a way still are. I collect these guns too and there are literally hundreds of different designs out there.
Keep in mind that during Weimar due to the Treaty of Versailles, certain firearms manufacturing were disallowed, so a lot of the cottage companies struggling for money started making .25 and .32 pistols. Here's an interesting one where safety is labeled 'German' and fire is labeled 'Polish'

Too high for what it is, but you'll come across these types of oddballs if you collect these things long enough.
>>35087627
Interesting. The slide and frame look distinctly Ortgies especially from the rear.

I'm just about done working on my Mauser 1914. The sights were favoring to the the right, so I'm getting them realigned. Aside from that, it shoots well because of the new springs. I'll post pics when I have the chance if this thread is still up.
>>35087864
I was given the Ortgies and that's what started me on these. Barrel had a serious bulge in it. Of course the story was someone gave it to grandpa to hide because it was used to kill someone yada yada. The bulge looked like it could be from a contact shot who knows. Anyway I got a new barrel. Fitting it was a chore but it worked and I'm hooked.
>>35087923
And yes, I spent an afternoon on my hands and knees looking for the striker spring follower when I took it apart the first time. Work shop needed swept anyway...
>>35087590
>Here's an interesting one where safety is labeled 'German' and fire is labeled 'Polish'
Yeah, I'm going to say it's some fake.
>>35088440
No, it's most likely a cottage build during the Weimar Republic. Typical Ruby design, which were copied by smaller German gun manufacturers looking for revenue in cash strapped Weimar.
Though this was probably a one-off by a gunmaker that had something against Poles, or could have been made in the Danzig area prior to WW2, etc. It doesn't have the appearances of a fake, and honestly your counterfeiters do not fake shit like this because it's not valuable. Not like stamping a Swazi on a Browning 1910 or Mauser or something.
>>35088837
>and honestly your counterfeiters do not fake shit like this because it's not valuable.
No, they counterfeit anything that will make them an extra buck. You're having the exact same response that the faker wants you to have. You made up a story.
>>35089067
>http://www.gunbroker.com/item/691309581
Doesn't matter much. I don't think anyone is going to pay 500 bucks for that no matter what the story.
>>35089382
First rule of gun collecting. Buy the gun not the story.
>>35087590
Beretta M1935. Got it from my dad who got it from his dad. No idea where Gramps got it.

was your granpappy inna WW2?
>>35089714
Very nice.
Just picked these up yesterday,

I miss my 38h... I ended up trading it for a swedish mauser. It's the only gun I've ever sold and I regret it to this day. Although it was a 3rd series 38h from the end of the war and in pretty crappy condition.

First .32 i got was a pretty beat up 1903
After shooting for the first time i finally understood why steel frame .32s were so popular
since then i've acquired a post war Spanish ruby and Walther PPK with minor holster wear from 1938.
>>35087590
I noticed that most of these .32 Autos have the barrel protruding from the slide. It's almost as if they are begging for a suppressor.
>>35089399
I too have been on the internet
>>35090587
No. He was a chef.
>>35090997
Autos in general have that and blowback is pretty ass for suppression.
>>35087627
If you happen to have a list laying around of the .32 pistols you know about and want to upload it, that would be rad
>>35092283
Friend of mine has a Kommer Model 4. Like pic related, only his is substantially nicer. Just a little holster wear.
He traded a DSM-34 for it, and the guy gave him a couple hundred bucks store credit for his antique/surplus store. He got the DSM-34 for $170 at an auction we were at.

.32's are among my favorites. Here are some of mine.
FN 1910
>>35092416
Since I forgot to describe it - FN 1900
FN 1910/22 (7.65x17mm) alongside FN Hi-Power (9x19mm)
>>35092408
Sweet, I can work with that, thanks
The top of my to buy .32s are Another Beretta 80 series single stack, a Tomcat, a 1903 and a Skorpion. After that random top break revolvers, maybe a .327, and whatever I find deals on. Hopefully a Modèle 1935A
Wartime and postwar Mauser HSc's.
I need to take a family photo of all my pocket autos eventually. I'm still holding out for a few more including a Frommer Stop, FN 1905, Sauer M1913, Sauer 38H and a Steyr-Pieper M1908/34.
Mmm yes pocket gun thread. My 1903 is my only one.
>>35092506
Drake do you have any experience with Original Model 51s
Steyr-Pieper M1908 - I actually came across this at Cabela's for less than $200. I am still looking for the a nice example of the upgraded M1908/34 model.
>>35092525
Some, I have this one in .32 ACP made in 1925.
I've had this for about 4 years and I'm only now discovering how much fun this thing is to shoot.
How many 32 acp to make a man die?
>>35092556
Oh and there's also this....thing.
>>35092506
The HSc and HK4 are remarkably similar. Is there a connection between Mauser and HK?
>>35092594
Yes, HK was founded by former Mauser engineers Edmund Heckler, Theodor Koch and Alex Seidel. Alex Seidel designed both the HSc and the HK4.
>>35092579
Well let's see, it took 1 to get about 20 million people killed in a span of about 4 years
>>35092635
I'll be damned. Thanks.
>>35092556
I still need a nice 1914. I have a 1910 and 1934 presently.
>>35092647
I think that Browning 1910 was .380
But by the same token, .32 auto has probably killed more cheaters, cuckers, swindlers and thiefs than any other caliber.
>>35092665
Can I be you for a day or two and 500 rounds of .32 ACP?
>>35092539
I should have guessed, and it's times like these I'm glad you're still around. I've got a major boner for Pederson and as time goes by I lose more and more interest in modern guns while gaining for guns from before the tech hit that plateau.
Similarities to the FN1910 in style and footprint aside, how do you like the 51 compared to the rest of your .32s
https://underwoodammo.com/shop/32-acp-p-50-grain-xtreme-cavitator/
Anyone have input on this stuff?
>>35092688
The internet says you're right, but I guess it's fair to say that .32s did a hell of a lot of work in amassing those casualties.
And now I'm imagining the Great War where the Skorpion existed
>>35092532
Dang man what a steal
all I can find at my Cabela's is over priced fowl shotguns and hunting rifles...
>>35092699
The 51 is by far the most compact of the .32's and has the softest recoil. The close second is the Savage 1907. The sights are minuscule, but still larger than the FN 1910's which are virtually non-existent. The takedown is a bit complex due to the movable breechblock. There is not a single screw in the entire pistol, the grips are actually retained by the grip safety pin - they slide downward once it is removed.
Here's a photo with my Colt 1903 to demonstrate how slim the Remington is by comparison.
>>35089714
absolutely beautiful
>>35092766
It was the executioner's favorite I imagine. Right behind the ear.
>>35092817
The Ortgies has not a single screw also. Interesting.
>>35092817
Oh wow, I never realized how trim they actually are and I sure as hell didn't know the takedown was all pins. Shame Pederson hadnt come along a bit sooner. Would have been nice to see how the Model 52 really played out. The 51s don't seem to pop up on auctions often enough to get ballpark price but I would like to pick one up eventually. If you have an idea what a fair condition .380 or .32 go for I would appreciate any advice.
All I have to offer is Cylinder and Slide's 1903 inspired 1911
>>35087590
Here's mine. Serial lookup from Colt says it was a shipment of one for presentation.
>>35092336
Haha I guess he is grandpa age now but not mine, I'm 40.
I'm seriously considering a 32 acp gun for cc just because a gun that small would be convenient. Am I retarded?
>>35092665
1910 shoots doodie .25 and the 1934 has that weird hump-grip that isn't as sexy. 1914 is best. <3
>irrelevant picture, but I'm all out of .32 pics
>>35092665
>>35092556
Very nice. Here's mine that was used in the Norwegian police at some point
>>35092703
No, but it's very reminiscent of the French experimental machined ammo that proved to incredibly effective. I'd like to try some one day
>>35092843
Thanks. Cleaning it right now. It really needs it
I've got a few more. Here is a postwar Walther PP.
Wartime Walther PPK.
CZ vz.50
Savage 1907
>>35087590
>went shooting today
>brought mother, because I need to teach her to shoot because she CCs and idiots CCing is scary
>don't have enough cash to bring any more 9x18 makarov, so instead we bring her Dreyse M1907
>it's normally jammy as fuck, and the trigger's like pulling a fucking car with your finger
>I'd disassembled the entire gun, cleaned it, reassembled, and ensured nothing was nasty or caked a few months back and forgotten it
>shoot FAL a little, then get to business (mainly because mother got bored enough to actually listen)
>tfw you taught your mother to shoot well out to 50 yds with a gun that's probably over 100
>tfw it only had three light strikes and a jam instead of the usual hand cycling through the mag
Guys, I need to find a .32 for my mother.
A reliable one.
Her makarov is great, but she was sick for a long while and lost damn near all her arm strength, and .32 has demonstrated itself to be the best possible cartridge for her.
I already have some preferences, but what would you guys recommend?
>>35093235
Shot placement is king I guess.
>>35093235
Shot placement is king at the ranges self defense normally requires.
.32 is easy as fuck to handle, and dumping all 7-8-9 rounds into someone's skull is a simple matter in theory.
It's a nice point and click cartridge, even for people who are shit with guns as >>35093528 demonstrated.
I'm also looking into a .32 for both me and a relative though, so I might be a little biased.
>>35087590
They all look nice, but any caliber smaller than 9x19 is only good for executing starving soviet peasants
>>35093528
Seecamp or NAA Guardian might be an option. Or just a Kel-Tec
I've got a bit of a 32 collection going. Don't have pictures of all of them though. I did just win a Japanese police contract overrun P230 .32ACP on gunbroker so looking forward to that.
32 ACP actually suppresses pretty nicely, even with a wildly oversized 45 can.
>>35093898
holy shit
The grip safety on these things are stiff as fuck. Makes them kinda wonky to shoot.
>>35093939
Was kinda my reaction when I got the threaded barrel in. The best part is the gun was $300 because it was refinished and "broken'. It was just a broken firing pin.
>>35093958
The FN 1910 and 1910/22 grip safeties are nowhere nearly as stiff as the FN 1903/Husqvarna 1907. That one requires a conscious effort to disengage and will pinch the web of your hand if you let your grip relax while shooting..
>>35090630
Hey my neighbor has one of those
>>35094019
Damn. I already feel like I'm death gripping the 1910/22, doesn't help I've got big hands and it's a skinny pistol. I do still want a Husqvarna, 380ACP rechambered would be fine. They just look good.
