1. There are plenty of modern guns that are striker fired polymer that are drop safe
2. CEOs (Corporate Executive Officers) make executive decisions with a board of people like the CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and a whole host of others to make decisions to grow the company's value in the interest of stockholders. That's what business is.
3. Sig has issued these P320s for years and in that time nobody found them to be "shitty". Now that certain models are considered to be not drop safe, Sig has issued a voluntary recall to fix the problem like any good company would do.

Also let me elaborate on point 2. before I leave. First I mistyped "Chief Executive Officer" as Corporate Executive Officer. Metal is arguably better. Get an alloy frame if weight is a concern. Polymer is popular because it is vastly cheaper to create and more flexible in design, not because it is 'better'.
