So it turns out the worst of the lines is from a burr on the slide digging into the anodizing of the frame. I took some 2k grit sandpaper and polished it out.
I understand that its the poor handling that allows Beretta to shit out these pistols for $650 MSRP, but for a company that takes so much pride in its form and lines, it's disappointing.

You should have just called customer service if you bought it new. They would have polished the burr and repaired the finish, and probably threw in a magazine or something.

I just bought an m9a1 and the finish wasn't super pretty on it either but it's such a nice shooting gun that I don't even care.
They're great shooting guns, designed to pass out to military grunts. If you want a zinc alloy "painted whore" get a Kimber or SIG. Your gun is for, fighting, shooting and shooting well.
