The Lincoln and her strike group are heading to the 5th/7th Fleets area of operations.

http://www.navy.mil/submit/display.asp?story_id=55755

>EVERETT, Wash. (NNS) -- Three ships of Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9 -- USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), USS Momsen (DDG 92), and USS Shoup (DDG 86) -- will get underway Sept. 7 from Naval Station Everett for a scheduled routine deployment to the 7th and 5th Fleet Areas of Responsibility.

>Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 9 consists of flagship USS Abraham Lincoln, embarked Carrier Air Wing 2, San Diego-based guided-missile cruiser USS Cape St. George (CG 71), and the embarked Destroyer Squadron (DESRON) 9, which includes the Everett-based destroyers Momsen and Shoup, as well as the San Diego-based destroyers USS Halsey (DDG 97) and USS Sterett (DDG 104), which will get underway from Naval Base San Diego in the near future.

Since the Nimitz CSG is already in the Persian gulf (http://www.gonavy.jp/CVLocation.html) I think it's safe to say the Lincoln is gonna mainly operate in the Western Side of the 7th Fleets AOE.

Carrier Air Wing 2 is pretty well stacked now, only one legacy hornet squadron, with two Super Hornet Squadrons and a Growler EW Squadron. On top of helis and C-2sa and a Squadron of E-2Cs.

How much does this bring to the table with the Norks, on top of the F-35B Squadron in Japan?

Navy General btw

Pic Moderately related, Stenis is off the coast of North Carolina, where the Lincoln coincidentally is as well.

another self bump, with more "new"

the USS Wasp has also been sent to 7th fleet to be stationed in Japan along with VMFA-121, which have just recently transitioned to the F-35B also. I slightly feel like the US is starting to slowly and quietly mobilize in the Pacific, rightfully so.

I think China might be a little curious to see how the F-35 would potentially handle the Norks

It's the worst modern plane to ever be put in service, NK's MIG-29's are more than a fair match against them, especially considering we don't know the full extent of upgrades that NK has made to them.

I'm inclined to agree with this

Also, I thought the Zumwalt was made of composite materials? It looks like steel from the way the hull has become all corrugated and wavy, like the ship in >>35085572 but less.

Anyone wanna inform me?

Honestly, I feel its just edgey teenagers that still think that going on /b/ is the staple of the dark web. Actual chinkposters have a certain style with their derailment. These shit posters are just edgelords.

Also, how many Sub's do you think will shadow the Lincoln CSG? I think itd be no less than 4

>>35088367
I think it's supposed to be just 2 no? And the Wasp gets 1

A CSG goes get at least one and usually 2 for big boy ops, yes. But I feel the political climate in the Western Pacific isn't as stable and civil as it was a year ago. And I doubt the worlds premiere naval heavy weight will take the threats of their enemies in that region lightly. A Carrier Strike Group requires am absolute insane amount of men and material to run, and I doubt the Navy will gimp on one of the most susceptible ways of getting into shooting distance with a Nimitz. Remember submarines is one of the most prevalent ways any would be adversary would have in the hopes of getting a shot off on a Nimitz, let alone sinking one. If I know this, the Navy definitely does.
