Polish goverment signed a contract for 53k new rifles for their military. They are also changing the name from MSBS to GROT (spearhead/arrowhead) after general Stefan 'Grot' Rowecki. Rifle passed the tests in SF and army and is ready for production.

Isn't that the rifle that can be easily converted into a bullpup as well as serve as MG/sniper?
>>
....so yet another SCAR clone?

Only in Polish now, since contract was singed today, title says: "53 thousands GROT rifles for Polish Army. Contract signed."

Btw, it is quite pricey, whole deal is for 0,5 bln zlotys, so it is about 3000$ per rifle. I hope this includes support and additional equipment.
>>

is it going to conventional forces, SOF, or both?

Well this makes me happy. Radom was saying forever that they wouldn't start civilian sales until they confirmed a contract with the Polish army. With any luck we might finally see them for sale here in the states in a year or two.
>>
>>35080860
Maybe we'll get non century AK'S in 5.45 again. God I love poland
>>
>>35080945
Pole don't use 5.45, the Beryl is 5.56. And IICR they do have plans for one for the US market but the last I heard the ATF gave them a bunch of shit for some trivial little things so all they got approved in their initial application was for some .22s

The Polish Army is only around 100k men, so an order of 53k rifles isn't a lot. Sounds like they are only going to be equipping SF units and maybe a few other select line units. If the gun does well after issue, they will probably put in another order to fill out the rest of their forces. it probably won't be until then that they will look at selling on the civ market. Guns will probably cost around 1500-2000 I'm guessing.

>>

Btw, Stefan 'Grot' Rowecki was the first commander of the Home Army.

Grot (arrowhead) is also a nice reference to it's factory, Fabryka Broni ''Łucznik'' (Weapons Factory ''Archer'') in Radom

Other than that it was also chosen because it's short, doesn't contain exclusively native letters and foreigners can read/pronounce it

It also breaks our retarded communist times "tradition'' of naming guns after minerals.
>>
>>35079521
Considering the ACR died with Remington this now takes the place of the ACR...though the conversion from bullpup to traditional needs to be given credit.
>>

Yup and they made every effort to import them to the U.S but ATF kept fuckimg them so they finally closed down their US subsidiary.

The convergence of all these rifles was always going to happen, but no one wants to pay FN to license the design when they can spit out a clone.
>>

Best I can tell the idea is to have local forces who can be "boots on the ground with local knowledge to prevent a fractioning off hot rebellion/insurgency ala Donbass, Transiestria, or those counties in Georgia.

Short stroke gas piston with manual gas regulation. Knowing that You can take a guess how it will handle some dirt. I have some docs about it but they are in Polish and I can't do all of the translation from my phone...
>>
>>35088672

FFS. It's not like the magazine spring and round stack is pressing up on the bottom of the bolt group like a goddamn brake or anything.

A brake that progressively becomes less forceful as rounds evacuate the magazine.

Changing bolt speed totally won't change the ejection direction though.

Part of the article says:
Generally the SF guys who took part in the tests like the rifle. They like the option to move ris not only in 3,6,9 and 12 o'clock but in between positions too. They like how easy it is to take it apart and clean. How quick and easy barrel change system works. What they didn't really like was how stiff was the trigger but author says it's because they have habits from their tricked out hk416's with moded trigger groups. He says that the modular nature of the msbs makes it really easy to modify.
Anyway it will take a lot of time before any civilians will be able to test it out.

Radom tried twice and failed both times to get approval for import into the US. They were even told what to change the first time they were denied and still fucked it up. The jokes/memes about Poles being retarded must be true.

Also from what I've read Radom have the actual attitude of the old HK meme. People have had problems with their guns, when they contact the company for support they're told to basically go fuck a rusty rake.
