Would it be possible to mount a semi auto gun on a plane and fly it?
>>35075461
I'm pretty sure the plane will still fly fine, as long as we're not talking about a semi-auto howitzer or something. Weight distribution is pretty important.

I think he means legally, the answer is no. FFA wouldn't allow a civilian aircraft to be weaponized.

Legally hell no
Keeping th e weapon within reason you could probably get somewhere
my dad got fined by the FFA for installing a little tow hook on his Cessna while he was doing some banner advertisement jobs. does that answer your question?

The Future Farmers of America really need to stay out of the aviation business
To answer your question OP, there's a fairly well-subscribed urban legend up in Alaska about a guy who noticed lots of bountied game animals on fields he intended to land on, and as such attached shotguns to his bush plane, fashioned a sight and feeding mechanism, and used it for bounty hunting. The story goes he used it with some success, and an investigation was carried on for some time before anyone could come up with anything to stop the guy. I say legend because I'm mostly skeptical of his using the rig successfully. Building, attempting, and going some time unmolested for it (up here) is within the realm of possibility. One of my professors claimed to have worked on the case for the FAA, whom he did work for at the time, but I suspect it's something of a Big Fish.
