id consider buying a 200-300 .308 Savage bolt action and go about with that. If anyone in your family has land ask if they see deer around their property and if it's cool if you hunt there. also you'll need a liscense. It will cost 15-20 bucks usually.

Hunting is a lot more than just what gun to use. Go with someone that has hunted before and learn what there is to do. Shooting and killing the animal is like >1% of the total experience.
