What's a good handgun and carbine rifle combos?
I want a gun for both, Lubbock Texas is boring as shit, and I don't got much money to buy rifle and pistol ammo.
I'm thinking hog hunting with a 45acp carbine, or getting a 22lr pistol and rilfe for small game
Or, just get a old rusty shotgun
Single shot, rem 870, mav 88 etc etc
Anywho, post your thoughts and opinions

For Texas I would go for a rifle over a shotgun the only time I would pick a shotgun over a rifle would be in the jungles of Louisiana.

OP here
I disagree
Shotgun is good for squirrel, rabbit, bird, buck, hog and home invaders
Not to mention it's cheaper than getting a carbine and pistol, even if they're both .22lr it's roughly $400
Good shotgun cost $200

A Ruger 10/22 is 200 bucks dude. A single shot 12 gauge is 80 bucks. Why not get two long guns? Correy I don't think your gonna find a pistol for under 300 dollars unless you want a hi point. I'd recommend the .45 for 150 if you wanna go that route, but I still recommend the rifle over the 12 gauge. I have a 12 gauge now and I'd rather have the rifle.

Also if your gonna get a PCC, get a 9mm. I'm a .45 fanboy and even I can admit 9mm is better out of a rifle barrel

OP here
Shotgun is a good general all around gun, only questions is single shot or pump and 12, 20, 410 etc etc
10/22 is just small game and maybe home defense
There are a handful of .22lr guns at $200
Also, 45acp is also good out of a rifle barrel, tommy gun for example
i don't know why buy I want a 45 acp rifle, maybe a hipoint

A Thompson isn't in your budget and tbeh fucking suck. The one in that picture probably weighed 14 pounds empty.
Go for hipoint dude. Get a carbine and a pistol. Max is 400 dollars all together and you can share ammo in between them. I'd suggest a 9 for the carbine for "muh velocity" but just get a .45 since it's single stack.
Get a single shot 12 gauge. It's the cheapest option and you'll only hunt with it.

Wish I could get a 1911 and a Tommy gun
But Hipoint combo is more realistic
And yeah, shotgun is a good choice
>>35071348
You really don't want a Thompson dude. I know they look super cool and muh dubyadubya 2.
Fuck that heavy piece of shit. I'd rather carry the M1 with a paratrooper stock, frozen Korea wool jackets be damned.
>>35071392
Dah, the stock is wonky too.
I'd love to have an old M-3 grease gun. Lighter and stupidly simple.
>>35071392
LMAO
I know the tommy gun is 15lbs and the drum mag jams over the smallest shit
Yeah I heard the "30 cal bullets jump off" argument, not sure how true it was
One Vietnam war buddy told me you're better off trowing a 1911 than shooting it
More than a BAR or a M1Garand, I really want a 1897 slam fire shotgun

>lubbock
Im so sorry anon. The government gratefully put an interstate in so you can bail

All Vietnam veterans are pogs and crybaby faggots. No one wants to drink with them at the VFW because of how annoying they are. Find you some Korean war vets or Iraq vets to get knowledge from.
Every Vietnam vet who says he was into super spooky night ops killing charlie with a knife in hand to hand in the jungles after burning down his gook tranny hooker.girlsfriends fuck hooch drove trucks in Saigon.

They didn't "jump off" they failed to penetrate at distance.
I'm starting to think you don't know anything about guns.
>>35071528
The story I heard was "They were bouncing off"
>>35071554
The story you heard was wrong. The .30 carbine has about the same velocity as a 357 Magnum and failed to penetrate the frozen thick wool coats of the enemy at distance. The cold also brought the velocity down, couple that with the enemies clothing and it was failing to disable them.
It's a rifle round, it didn't "bounce off" we weren't shooting marshmallows at them.
henry 357 lever gun and a GP100

Like I said, it just sounds like a story
I doubt 30 carbine is that slow
